I have actually had a relatively clear head for 3 days in a row with minimum pain and normal (for me) fatigue! I like the feeling :) Heading to the park with the dogs and this time I will try to actually walk instead of standing and watching them.
Huugggss to al!!!

Boy Oh Boy was I on a roll today, LOL, Today wasn't a dizzy day. Today was a FEEL GOOD day, all in spirit, in self esteem & in health!!! That in Itself would be Fantabulous!!!
I went Above & Beyond today, the lady south of me is on crutches (& single) so I went over to see if she needed anything from a store in Carroll, she said no but if I liked tomatoes to go ahead & pick them for myself from her garden & we chatted for a bit. Then I went to my neighbor to the north of me, he has diabetes (& single) to see if he needed anything from a store in Carroll, he said no but if I liked apples to go right ahead & pick some for myself, it is a good year for apples & we chatted a bit. Then I went across the street to the west to ask the lady who uses a walker quite slowly (& single) if she needed anything from a store in Carroll, but alas, the door was open but no one came to the door. Then I tried to see if my friend, who is single if she needed anything from a store in Carroll & yet again alas no one came to the door.
I went to DG & bought only the two items I had on my list. WOOOHOOO.
I went to WM & bought not only the items on my list but a few extra goodies, ice cream & a $2 magazine. WOOOHOOO.
Yes indeedy a GOOD day all around.
LOL

Had a wonderful day! Took my Shih Tzu (she is a hiking little dog!) 40 minutes down the Palmetto Trail today...okey, it was a bit warm so we more meandered than hiked. But still 40 minutes in and out! I hit my markers (cairns) from previous hikes right on time and went one cairn farther! We both feel great on endorphins. but boy am I sore! No matter, it was a great day!! Can't wait til we hike again!
A slow walk in the woods does more for your physical and mental health than hours walking in the city!! Hooray for God for giving us this wonderful gift and Duke Power for preserving it!
For those that don't know, the Palmetto Trail runs along the border of North and South Carolina. USA
Happy tonight!

The tragic Butte fire here in California is coming to an end!! So much tragedy for so many!! We had to evacuate our two oldest daughters and families and many many animals. Iām so very thankful that their homes were spared! The support of our community in Calaveras county is so amazing! Itās going to be a long road as so far over 500 locals have lost their homes. Iām just feeling very Blessed to live where I do and to see everyone come together in this time of needā¦Blessings to all!! Dyana:)
I got to play with two puppies today outside of a Starbuckās. There were such loves. One a Corgi, the other a King Cav. It made my day.
I had the best sleep and woke up happy!
And this morning tried making cardamon coffee, which I recomend all you coffee drinkers try!
Love and hugs to all
Awhh puppies always make my day too :)

Today I was able to water the plants, change the litter box, breakdown a bunch of boxes, move the garbage to the back porch & removed a very ripe dead mouse from behind the fridge without vomiting or passing out!!! WOOOHOOO
To-day I met my lovely group of friends in Costa coffee, as I do every Wednesday. It always raises my spirits, as we just laugh, a lot! Everyone needs friends like that, and I am blessed!
Hi,
We discovered quite by accident a huge reduction in Jeannette's fibromyalgia pain when she is at sea level ! Her sensitivity to storms etc. also greatly reduced.. Has anyone else experienced a noticeable reduction in pain when at the beach or close to sea level ?
Tks,
Jeannette & Joe
Hmm, that is interesting. I haven't heard of that but Fibro affects people in different ways. Glad to hear of a noticeable reduction of pain, that is wonderful! Thanks for sharing. Sending hugs to both of you.

Hi Auburnm,
I've just discovered another fibro sufferer that calls the beach "her happy place" ... She thought it was just the fact that her stress levels are reduced when she goes to the beach for vacation.. We've proven that in some ( many ? ) cases it's the atmospheric pressure... As part of our testing, we drove from sea level where Jeannette's pain level was about a 1 on a scale of 1-10... We headed for the mountains and I monitored the altitude.. Sure enough, at about 200 feet of altitude her pain started to increase, her ankles swelled up a bit, wrists etc. We drove up to about 1,000 feet and her pain increased dramatically... We then turned around and immediately drove back to sea level.. Before we even reached the ocean she noticed a minor improvement.. About 2 hours after returning to sea level her pain went back to a 1, down from a 7 when she was at 1,000 feet. Her condition is very sensitive to storms / weather changes ( as I understand is fairly common ) so I wonder if those that get increased pain when storms are coming or have arrived would also get significant relief by being at sea level... I hope others will try it out and let me know the results... There is specific treatments which may help for fibro that reacts to atmospheric pressure which I am investigating... As an interim solution we moved to sea level about 6 months and her pain has been notably reduced .....
Hi,
I surely don't wish to toss a 'downer' into this discussion but I couldn't be any closer to sea level. Right now as I type this, I can hear the seals barking in the ocean and 'I' can barely move about b/c of the FM pains & am having that dreadful FM fog. I would consider that it's the 'vacation' thoughts & spending time with friends AT that time that reduces the pain levels. I know quite a few FM sufferers that find a sudden change in the weather will cause a flare-up...so I tend to agree that atmospheric conditions CAN affect some of us adversely. One of my FM friends moved to a desert area (away from sea level) and has found that is the only place where she gets a reduction in pain level. She states her level goes down to apprx 2 or 3 from her usual 8 or 9. I am not 'financially privileged' as a/m friend to do the same or I certainly would. The ONLY relief I can get is to have 'visits' from cheerful people that make me laugh/smile/chuckle...anything to take my mind off of my aches/pains. My body cannot tolerate any of the various meds that some people take for the FM pains so I'm left to 'trying' to cope with the only way I've thus found.
Today will be a 'visitor' day so I'm REALLY looking forward to that special time.
Hi Geranium,
I appreciate the feedback... so many variations of symptoms and methods of pain reduction with this disease...it sometimes boggles the mind... Would you tell me what part of the country you live in close to the ocean? The reason I ask is that in my efforts to find pain relief for the wife I tried different parts of the U.S. Maui and some desert areas were on a list of places that might reportedly give relief to some fibro sufferers, so we tried Maui, renting a place at sea level. With the climate on West Maui consistently sunny etc. Jeannette found enormous relief there... Maui was too far and too expensive to live so we experimented with sea level at various South Carolina locations and while not as good as Maui, it did give her quite a bit of relief overall. BUT... and this is the strange part... when we stayed a few weeks at sea level on Cape Cod in Massachusetts as part of our sea level tests.. almost NO relief at all even though we were at sea level... I have no explanation as to why that is, perhaps something with her individually, but who knows... So I'd be curious to see where you are as I try and put the pieces together in this challenging puzzle ! Thanks, Joe
Hi Joe,
Yes indeed it boggles the mind of not only we FM afflicted people but also the Dr.'s that try various methods to 'treat' us. 'I' am of the opinion that until there is a cause found for this disease/affliction...the Dr.'s will NOT be able to cure us. Even with all the medical research being done regarding FM....still no concrete evidence of WHY & WHAT the cause is. I've been reading/researching everything I can possibly get access to on the iNet PLUS interacting/conversing with other FM people all over the globe, IE--U.K., Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand & of course various parts of the U.S. & Canada. My own Dr. admits that 'I' know more than he does about FM now. hmmm!!
As to where "I" live..it is on the extreme West Coast of of B.C., Canada...East coast of Vancouver Island which is considered the most temperate zone relative to the rest of Canada. I live in the mid-south tip of the Island that is considered the 'banana belt' b/c the area is protected from a mid-island mountain range that protects 'us' from potentially extreme weather conditions that come from both the Pacific Ocean AND the 'down swirling conditions' (sorry--cannot express it a better way other than 'swirling' from Alaska. I am just trying to give you a gist of what I see on TV re the weather patterns and how they flow. For all I know...'you' live in Canada and know exactly what I'm talking about. :)
If not...the Arctic flow patterns bypass 'my' area and continue on to affect the interior of B.C. & the prairie provinces of Canada. COLD......brrrrr!!
However, this a/m area is considered very humid...just like the Cape Cod area you tried out BUT not nearly as cold..just damp during our monsoon season--November to March/April. Thus I 'hopefully' answer your 'wondering about' the Cape Cod Area. I have FM contact who lives in Alabama who tells me she has gotten to the point of being mostly bed-ridden so obviously THAT temp/conditions doesn't work for HER.
Another FM contact friend lives 6 months in San Diego..the other 6 in Florida...she 'copes' in both areas BUT says she is in constant struggle and often ends up in hospital to get pain-relief injections.
Myself...I spent 4 weeks in Maui BUT didn't have Fm at the time...so cannot offer any feedback BUT there IS a gal on this Fibro-network who does live there and she USED TO post how she's doing/feeling but I haven't seen her on-line for quite some time now. (Even forget her screen name her...hmph)
The gal in U.K. (England) lives a spit throw from Ocean like I do doesn't seem to complain much at all about the 'condition' anymore.. We made 'friends' on Facebook so we exchange/converse about 'our' stuff that way. Both of us feel it very helpful to yak about what 'we' are doing on a daily basis to take our minds OFF our pains AND the general disruption of the life we ONCE had.
I'm so sorry if you find my msg a bit of a 'rambling on' Joe...but I get talking/typing sometimes b/c I REALLY want to help in anyway that I can. There was a woman who was a 'moderator' on this FM-network and if it wasn't for her 'talking' to me..I'm pretty sure that I would have given up a loooooong time ago. She was my rock..we ALL need a rock in this 'scenario' It's just the way it works Joe.
God Bless you in your quest to help Jeannette.
Hugs to you both,
Geranium
I declutered my work desk!
Today, I woke up and realized that in 30 days (April 3rd) I will be a married woman. :)
I woke up this morning without the alarm clock.
It was raining (a GOOD thing here in the California drought zones)
I felt good, even though I had spent 5 straight hours sitting in a class yesterday.
I'm happy about the class - it was training to be a reading tutor for adults. I've wanted to do this for years but never seemed to have time. Now, having been forced into retirement because of health issues, I have the time to do it. And I'm finally feeling up to a few hours a week helping someone else, while mostly sitting down.
