Small fiber neuropathy and sodium channels

There is a possible link between fibromyalgia and small fiber neuropathy as well a sodium channel abnormalities in neurons. There may be genetic links as well.. This information comes from recent medical reports in the literature (google: small fiber neuropathy and fibro OAKLANDER ET AL, and Nav1.7 Martinez-Lavin, and SCN9a Waxman for reports). Does anyone have further info or personal experience? Greg

Hi Greg,

I think I've heard of sodium channel abnormalities possibly tying in with fibro before but I don't have any more info than that.

I guess I'm getting weary of getting excited by new research that we hear no more about. It's hard, we hope for a cure but then radio-silence from the science community. What you suggest IS exciting...now come ON, science community and figure this conundrum OUT! :-)
