So tired and cant sleep

Im so tired but having too much nerve pain I guess is what Id call it. Sharp electric shocks in my right shin. Also a pinching feeling on the back of my leg right behind the knee. And the weirdest feeling in my front ankle area. It feels like something is brushing up against my ankle bur nothing is there. Strange. Wish it would all just go away and let me sleep. Vicky

Do you take either Neurontin or Lyrica for nerve pain? Helps me, I'm on 225 mg Lyrica 3 x daily!

Hey Vicky,
I’m so sorry, I had a rough night as well with the fibro. Sometimes meds help but not always. Do you take anything for the fibro? Or maybe you can try a hot bath before bed with some Epsom salts. I have found it very affective in toning down nerve pain, especially in my legs.

I ended up taking some clonazepam, and was able to get to sleep. I've never tried Neurontin or Lyrica. The meds I currently take, which are mostly for my Behcets are, Methotrexate, Imuran, Trental, Clonazepam, and Vicodin.

I am glad neurontin and lyrica have positive affects. I have tried both before (feels like I’ve tried everything under the sun and am betting everyone can relate) and they had bad affects for me.
Have you tried ambien before?

IVE BEEN TIRED AND HURT COULDNT SLEEP IVE DRANK HOT COCOA WARM MILK WHILE WATCHING TV UNTIL I WAS PERSCRIBED AMBIEN ITS GREAT NO MATTER HOW MUCH PAIN IM IN TAKE IT AND IM ASLEEP IN 5 MINUTES YOURE IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS

I just had this happen to me on Saturday night. It was AWFUL to say the least. I didn't sleep at all. And then the following night I think I slept for about 4 hours. I ended up using Melatonin the past two nights and I have to say, I don't know if it was from over exhaustion or from the melatonin, but I fell asleep and stayed asleep. Not that I woke up feeling like I actually slept all night, but I definitely felt better.

I'm sorry you're experiencing this, Vicky. I find the sharp electric shocks to be the worst kind of fibro pain. I get them plus the pinching feeling behind the knee. Feels like the tendon is being pinched. I don't get the feeling of something brushing up against me but I know that others here have mentioned it.

I don't know how it's possible to sleep when you're in that kind of pain, so I hope it's eased up for you today. If I ice the area with electric shocks for many hours, I can usually get it to go away. Salon Pas over the counter pain patches also help with it.

Sleep well tonight - hopefully - Vicky,

Petunia

Hi Vicky- It never ceases to amaze me the bizarre unrelated disconnected symptoms of Fibro. We all ask “What’s next?” I have very similar symptoms as you this week. Someday someone will figure it out.
Take care and hope you are sleeping better. Best, Michael
