Tick borne illness resides all over the globe. Think “natures dirty needle.” I believe there is colorado tick fever. I have more info which I will post. I paid $200 out of pocket for Igenix testing. They specialize in tick illnesses. I know it’s a lot of $$ but was worth it.

Shiela, I did test positive for HHV6, EBV and I have Hashimotos already. The Lyme spirochete and co-infections can hide in tissue including the brain for many years. Something like a cortisone shot can cause it to reactivate. Or it can hide in biofilms like a protective shield. I’m not a dr so pls correct me if I am explaining incorrectly. Ok must sleep now!

You are so right, Angel! Exactly right! I know I am lucky to have found a Dr who can diagnose without bloodwork, though he runs mine on a regular basis, has to with the biologic. He is very conservative, and does not order tests, meds or anything unless absolutely necessary. If your ankles hurt, he only x-rays one. So I am happy about that, some really go overboard with it.
I know with testing me for Sjogrens, my GP had to run the bloods many times, finally came up as false positive, then when it did show up the reading was literally 'off the charts'! It's crazy!
Agree. You can be positive for Lyme without labs to prove it. A number of studies have been done on it. I see a Lyme literate dr who began my treatment prior to hearing from Igenix. The positive is based on specific symptoms.
Agree. 2 other docs said I didn’t have Lyme. The Lyme literate docs are the way to go.
Chronic Lyme is very difficult to diagnose. I went through extensive testing when I became ill. I had to have bloodwork sent to a special lab in California which is the only one that can find it when the other tests are negative. It still was negative. Anyone who has these symptoms needs to be tested. Just be aware that the Western Blot is highly unreliable and that chronic Lyme is very hard to find because it hides in tissue (not always in blood or urine).
