Over the past week, a few things happened that made me very grateful. This started out bad. I was having a bad day. Seemed like nothing could go right and it was all because of the condition I am in and my limitations. I wound up breaking down to my husband about how badly I had cabin fever and rarely ever get to leave the house . He was kind, and took me for a long drive. It was just what I needed. On Saturday, I was feeling good. I went with my 2 nieces and my brother-in-law's fiancé to a festival. Both of my nieces are teenagers. The older one will be turning 16 soon. She was with me while the youngest was with my future sister-in-law. We were near by a face painting booth when I told her I would do it if she would. At first she was reluctant and to embarrassed too at her age. I told her, with my limitations, this is how I want to enjoy my life. Live like I'm dying. When I'm able to do something fun, I'm going to enjoy even the littlest thing to make my life happy. She did it for me. She got music notes and I got a purple butterfly. That made my day. I love my family. I love my friends. All of you make my day special too. What are the little things that make you happy?
Aimee Rose I am so glad you got to do this. It is the small things in life that make all the difference. Maybe you and your husband or family could plan for you to get out more often. My grandson is playing football this year and I hope to make most of his home games. I feel better when I can get out some.

Hello Aimee Rose
I love your post, so positive -that's what I need to hear from people suffering this. I feel if it wasn't for my children and grandchildren I would find it much more difficult to cope -they keep me going!
Take care, Anne
glad things turned out good and you had a lovely day. i am very grateful for simple basic things like being able to type, hold a remote control. lol. ( really) watch tv., hold a glass myself to my own lips...wash, cook and clean, walk and breathe on my own. there were many years i could not.. that being said i am so happy to laugh with my two dear ones, my husband and my daughter. that gives me the most joy. I love to fuss with my house plants and move some of them about in the best light or sun during the day. I have one that is called a 'wandering jew'. my mother lived in florida and used to come to visit me every summer. we live in NY so that is 1500 miles about 2.5 hours on plane. so she snipped some of those green /purple leaves and wrapped them in a wet napkin and then in tin foil.. soon as she got in we stuck them in dirt. She has now passed on 3 years and i still have them going. this gives me a lot of joy because they struggle to stay alive in the winter. they like warmth and a lot of sun.. well thats about all my rambling for now , i think.. lol. all the best and thanks for your lovely post about your fun time with your loved ones.. HUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGS

What makes me happy? Hearing the sound of my sweet husband when he first comes home “Honey, I’m home!”. Answering my phone & hearing the excitement in the voice of my only child telling me how much he loves his work, his friends, & all the things to do in NYC. ( He is an architect & designer in Manhatten. He is only 24 years old.)
Feeling the sun on my cheekl on a cool day in late winter, knowing spring is just around the corner. Feeling the crisp autumn mornings & evenings while enjoying the majesty of God’s beautiful fall colors. Holding a freshly hatched but fully fluffed out baby chick. Watching the yellow & blue finches swarm all around my house at all the feeders. Taking pictures of just born twin lambs that look nothing alike! Watching how a new calf will buck & play when the weather is nice and he is feeling good. Ah, I could go on & on. It’s a lot of work, but our farm helps me keep my sanity & sometimes helps me to forget about aches & pains, if even for just a few moments! There are plenty of other things that make me happy, great & small. Always counting our blessings!
This is a great discussion, thanks for posting this Aimee Rose! It is so important to recognize and celebrate all the positive things that happen as well, goodness knows the pain sometimes tries to take that away but we are strong and WILL overcome it. I love that you got your face painted - that is way cool! Hugs.
I love all of your responses. It gives me more to think about and be thankful for. I think sometimes we all could use a little reminder. Life is truly precious isn't it. Even during our darkest times, their is still light somewhere.
Hi, Aimee Rose.
You have such a pretty name.
Thank you for this wonderfully positive post.
The little things that make me happy… let’s see…
Blue skies, Fall, a good cup of coffee, animals,
a smile from a friend, chocolate, nature, a soft pillow, funny jokes, the sound of children playing,
bus rides, country music, a fabulous haircut, my Garfield pj’s Lol. Alot makes me happy!
Today I appreciated the rain we got. Normally cold weather or wet weather can make my fibro worse but here in California we have a horrible drought and big fire going so the rain today was a blessing. Hugs.
Awesome post! I often find focusing on the positive really helps to minimize the pain and some of my other symptoms. I’m so happy for you that you got to enjoy the festival and time with your family. Thanks so much for sharing, hugs.
