Hello-
I have tried all types of Doctors (GP, Sleep Disorder Doc, Rheumatologist, Chiro, etc). Which kind of Doctor has been most helpful for you? I am considering a Neurologist.

Hello Fibroman58,
I think it would be a Doc you trust, you get on with, and who believes in Fibro! Sadly not all do. In UK a rheumotologist usualyy diagnoses, then leaves it to local Doc to deal with, (which they are quite capable of doing). I know some people also get a lot of help from neurologists P'raps they will share their experience on here. Sometimes it does take a while to find the right Doc. Good luck!
Hi . For me the doctors who cared enough about me and tried their best to help me are the best . First I had a medical doctor for 20 years who knew nothing about my original diagnoses of a severe case of CFIFS and researched it and then did all he could do to help me . He recently moved to another state and I was lucky to get hooked up with another medical doc who also have great staff. I began having gran mal seizures a few years into illness and didn’t find a neurologist that I liked until sbout 4 years ago . Neurologist treat a variety of pain syndromes so for me he is also very important to me . He believes my state of health and works to make my life better . I hope you find some doctors who believe you and that you can trust and respect as I did . Sometimes it takes awhile. All the best and

Ps when making an appointment ask if the doctor is knowledgable and treats your condition .
Thanks for the reply's! Unfortunately I have spend a lot of time and money and haven't had much success. As I get older, it's getting worse and I am thinking that I need to change my career, which is labor and mentally taxing. I live in the St.Peterburg / Tampa, FL area and I need to find a doctor who will help. I am even willing to travel if need be.
You are welcome, Fibroman,
I hope someone who lives in your area is able to recommend. Can be so frustrating, and time-consuming and expensive! finding the right Docs, then the right meds, but you will get there in the end. Thinking about a career change might be a good call, also. Or could adaptations be made in your current career, maybe go part-time? Struggling with your job can make this tricky condition worse, also stress is not our friend! As I'm sure you know. Good luck
Take care, Anne
