Acupuncture

Does anybody get or tried acupuncture ? Is it helping you ?

Hi, a few friends of mine feel that it is helpful. I tried it but I was not able to be consistent enough like going 3-4 times a week so I can not personally opine on it. All the best.

i have done acupuncture and i have found that it helps as much as any other therapeutic treatment has helped me. (massage, cupping, et cetera) i am currently doing acupuncture combined in dry needling to combat my super tight knots, and i am having some success with that. for me, acupuncture is covered by my insurance up to a certain number of visits, so it is a little less expensive when i figure in the copay than a massage.

a lot of insurance companies are covering it these days, so i say absolutely give it a go!

Thanks Suzie ..I am 71 and its getting hard for me to keep trying different things and the pills I take cost a lot . I also have Lupus as well . I have been thinking of acupuncture but that means I would have to drive for an hour and then an hour back home 3 or 4 times a week. I am trying to get some info .God Bless and thanks .

I tried it for 5 weeks in a row. Wanted to give it a try and at first I thought it might be working, but just could not see paying 75.00 a trip since insurance does not cover it.

I have been doing massages every 10 days for 55.00 each along with water therapy at the YMCA which seems to help some.

Weather changes really hit me hard and no matter what I do it seems to give me a flare up.

Best of luck to you, keep trying new things until you see what works best for you.

Hi. Acupuncture has helped me manage my pain- I’ve had different levels of success with different practitioners. Seeing someone who specializes in pain treatment, and is open minded to complimentary medicines (i.e. Doesn’t swear off all western medicine) has helped as well. I’ve very lucky right now that my current insurance covers 12 visits a year, but have found it more effective every week to start and every other week as maintenance. Check in your communities, anyone who is interested: many decent-sized towns have sliding scale/ community based acupuncture options. Best of luck! Sio.

Thanks for the reply ... Yes you are very lucky to get 12 visits. I would sure like to be able to try acupuncture . My meds are not working like they use to .... plus I take 8 extra strength Tylenol a day. Going to have to sale a few things and give it a try. Thanks again
