Ahhhh Exams! (a little long)

One reason I want to do this is to vent about it and show you all my plans so I stick to my obligations and they aren't just in my head so here goes!

Back story, I'm in a 2 year diploma, Business Administration majoring in marketing, I am taking 2 first year and 3 second year courses this semester. I am worried I may be stressing a tad much over these because I am not grasping concepts for Financial Acounting course. Personal Selling the concepts are easy but there have been troubles with the teaching. Both Marketing Research and Consumer Behaviour are taught by an instructor I really respect and the guy who chooses who goes to this Marketing Conference in February, only 4 people go so impressing him is very important to me. Business Computing even the teacher says, you understand it, you'll get the exam done no problem, especially with the speed I do things at! :) I'm trying not to stress but also my next semester tuition being covered by Society for Manitobans with disabilities kind of relies on my marks.

I have Exam Accomidations, isolated room, comfy chair and time and a half.

First must explain I have 5 exams coming up between October 15th-19th,

Exam Schedule:

Monday 15th--> Personal Selling Exam

Tuesday 16th---> Nothing :)

Wednesday 17th-->Financial Accounting in Morning, Marketing Research in Afternoon

Thursday 18th-->Business Computing

Friday 19th--> Consumer Behaviour

So my Study Guide:

Today--> Chapter 1 in each course textbook and powerpoints, highlighting and making index cards

Tomorrow--> Chapter 2 in each course textbook and powerpoints, highlighting and making index cards

Wednesday 10th--> Chapter 3 and 4 in each course textbook and powerpoints, highlighting and making index cards (I have hours worth of spares)

Thursday 11th--> Chapter 5 in each textbook and powerpoints, highlighting and making index cards

Friday 12th--> Chapter 6 in each textbook and powerpoints, highlighting and making index cards

Saturday 13th--> Chapter 7 in each textbook and powerpoints, highlighting and making index cards

Sunday 14th--> Reading index cards, practicing anything I don't understand

Then the night before/day of each exam, go through the index cards for the upcoming one as to make sure I have it memorized as best I can!

So I propose a couple questions, does this sound reasonable to you? Am I stressing too much? Am I stretching myself too thin?

I think you are stretching yourself too thin. But I also understand the nees and want to get things done. Just make sure you give yourself time to rest. Good luck and gentle hugs.

It sounds like a full plate for sure but I think it’s great that you have a plan worked out for how you want to approach everything. I think that’s a grea way to start. My caution agrees with Sara38 in that you also need to make sure you get enough rest, othewise it won’t matter how much you studied. I would also add that if something in your schedule goes awry and you get off track don’t beat yourself up about it. Do what you can from your schedule each day and then let it go knowing that you’ve done your best.

Good luck with everything!

Well I don't know because I have almost as much homework and training as you do. I think you have a bit much but if you can't find a flow of studying then yes, you are doing too much. I have a class monday night, tues-wend & thurs online work for online classes need to be done with each chapter being up to 3 hours to complete. In between I have studying for monday class and friday class homework. I am NEVER without homework. . . I went to a friends bday dinner last week and had to bring my homework with me. . .this wknd I could have done work but chose to do nothing instead .. . .But I have a rhythm. ..this day is for this homework and that day is for that homework and so on. . .I say to that repeat that if you do not have a steady flow going then YES you are stretching yourself too thin but it looks like you have a flow so stick to it. I am taking 5 classes next semester and I am scared to push myself but I also quit working to focus more on school and health. . You have entirely too many chapters to read and memorize for all those classes that you risk mixing the information up or burning yourself out and plus, yes you need to find time to rest. . .take it slow, get a flow going that allows you to rest and take in the information and calm yourself down. You can do it!!

congrats on your schooling!
