April 9th

http://enditmovement.com

I do community outreach with the Sheriff office regarding human trafficking education. On April 9th the End It Movement is hoping to do a global Stand Up Against Slavery event.

I hope that this group will participate by simply sharing the website or sharing a statement about the current 27 million people living in slavery worldwide right now and use the #enditmovement if you use twitter or Facebook.

This is something that is a serious issue in Portland, it is the most pressing Human Issue out there that reaches all races, countries and wealth ranges.

Volunteer work is the one thing I can do that gives me purpose outside my house.

Dear Lyra,

I am so glad that this is being addressed, and that you are standing up against this horror! I will look for the page and make a statement, thank you for bringing this to our attention!

I'm with you!

I hope to see this group participate. It is a very small thing to do that is just a few keystrokes.

I have seen these crimes first hand. I see the girls coming in for help. I have seen what they will do for the drugs they get addicted to.

hi Lyra
that’s so awesome that you care so much about this issue, so many don’t know that this is actually happening,
I’d be glad to share a statement,

Hugs & blessings

Lyra, I would like to feature this a bit closer to the day, will you kindly remind me, should it slip my mind, please?

Have you read "Renting Lacy?" by LInda Smith. My husband and I have read enough material on human trafficing to know it is a huge and dark problem. Thank you for serving. My prayers for you.

This 16 year old is related to two friends of mine in the portland area. Facebook has been covered with pleas for help in finding her. Lyra and I live in the same area. Slave trafficing is a terrible problem here.

Thank you sweet Lyra!

I am so glad to see this pop up again. I was just coming over to repost it.

I do community education against human trafficking. There are thousands living in slavery in our country but world wide there are 27 million.

Half are children. that is nearly 14 million children living in slavery right now.

Great! That is a domestic issue long ignored.

I remembered!

Hi,

I am new to the blog but I, too, do community outreach for similar cause, Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and I am a survivor as well, and I definitely understand your cause and also the feeling that volunteering helps give purpose outside of the home. Some days I feel like I am just holding on and other days I feel like I am only holding my place on the sofa.

Good news! This 16 year old that I posted above has been found today! Thanks to people like Lyra who work to get them back. I haven't heard what her condition is or anything other than she is found.

YAY!!!
