Are knots in your muscle usually present with Firbromyalgia?

I am new at this, I am trying to get information about fibromyalgia . Where do I ask questions?

You can ask as many questions as often as you like right here. There will always be someone who can offer answers, insights, compassion or just a "shoulder" to cry on. We're all here for each other. I personally don't know about knots in the muscles, but I'm sure some of the other members will have information for you. Give it a day and you'll see all the responses you get :)

Welcome by the way!

Thanks for the article crynsugar. I have some of these and they’ve been a mystery to me until now. I also get knotted up muscles especially if I have overworked them especially in my upper back. Massage feels good and loosens it some but not all the way. I will also take a muscle relaxer. Hope this helps you Fran.

Hello Fran

This is the place to ask questions.

Hi Fran,

This is the place to go! So welcome, and thanks for your question. I'm not sure if you mean "knots" in terms of muscles feeling cramped or if you mean a physical lump in the muscle? I do have both. My left lower calf always feels like I've strained it. And my knees get all frozen up when the cold weather comes. And by that, I mean they seize up and will barely move. And I have nasty ones in my neck and shoulders at night, when I lie down.

I do have physical lumps too but they're just fatty lumps.

It's best to ask your doctor, just to be on the safe side.

I hope this has helped you a bit! Feel free to jump in with more questions!

Thanks for sharing the article, Cryn! I never knew that the lumps are common in people with fibro. Mine usually don't hurt but I hate having them because my old dog got them and I always feel like a dog with them, lol!

Hey there!
I can honestly say that, for me, they are very much connected. Now for instance, I am sitting here having my coffee and my back is pretty much a rock. I’m not sure what causes the muscles to seize up so quickly, but I’m guessing its a chain reaction from all the other fibro symptoms.
I am glad you came to this forum! It REALLY helps to be able to talk with others who also struggle with this disease. It reminds us that we are not alone and there really are people out there who understand.
Blessings and prayers for you!

And Ahava, that is the purpose of this online community for people to talk to others who also struggle with this illness and support each other because they understand.
