Baby, it's cold outside!

Need help on, why am I always cold? My body takes really long time to get warm. It took me 3 hours under three blankets, long pants, sweater and socks to get warm. It was like I had a fever, but no fever. My bones felt like they were going to break of how much I was shivering. Just want to know if anyone goes true the same, or it’s just me getting worst.
Thank you in advance.
Soft and caring hugs,
Yndira.

I have RA and Fibro so I have no idea what causes it but I am the same way. I have to sleep with socks on now because when I get in bed and my feet are cold I can't go to sleep because they never get warm. I also sleep with an extra blanket now and I have never done that in my life before. Its like I have to be super-warm to sleep. I also keep my heater in my house at about 76 or 78 and I've never done that before. It hurts to be cold now.

Hi yndidav,

Me too, always cold, and the temps down in the single digits doesn't help! We'll have another whopping electric bill, I'm sure! Besides fibro, I have arthritis and Raynauds, which is an autoimmune circulatory disease, so when it is a problem, I have meds to take that help the circulation that keep my fingers, toes, and nose much warmer, and keep them from turning white, and sometimes even blue.

Besides bundling up, I throw my top sheet and blankets in the dryer to warm them up and take any dampness out of them, before going to bed. Since my husband is always hot too, I have given up on the idea of shared blankets and sheets, so instead of buying king size ones to share, I now buy twin, so there is no problem with how warm or cold one is now, and no stealing covers frustrations!

Socks, absolutely! I gave up on panty hose years ago, now it's socks ONLY! I have a full drawer of all shapes, sizes and weights of them, and you can bet I sleep in them, especially in the winter!

I hope you are NOT getting the flu, as that is the first sign of it for me, the bouts of burning up then freezing, but it could just be the cycle of your heating.

Hope you can stay warm and well,

SK

Keep bundled up, Yndira to keep warm. Cold weather is really hard on our bodies when we are dealing with chronic illnesses.

Hi Yndira, I have a similar problem and even in the summer I’m often under a blanket. Recently I’ve found that I will go from freezing to being overheated especially at night. I’m constantly waking up and pulling an extra blanket or taking it off, or turning my electric throw on or off. I turn the thermostat up and 15 minutes later have to turn it off, then before the house even cools off I get cold again. . I’ve found that when I’m really cold if I curl up with an electric throw and drink something hot it usually helps both to warm me up and ease the pain caused by the cold.

Hi. It’s really weird I get cold and then hot and most the time my feet are freezing. Have you tried a heating blanket? Probably but just wondered. I get night sweats and I’m freezing at the same time. Then I get hot it’s a roller coaster and I don’t like it. The cold hurts more the. The heat, cold here this year has only been low of around 30 so I have been really lucky
hope you find a way to get cozy.
