Let there be joy and laughter for us all & for member's alone on this occassion Merry Christmas from us all at LWF
We do the traditional family Christmas. We put up the tree (I always wait until about a week before Christmas because my 3 year old finds the tree to be very entertaining.), hang stockings and try to put out a few decorations. On Christmas Eve we join my parents and my brother for an evening of family time, complete with snacks and Christmas music in the background. The grandkids open up their presents from Grandma and Grandpa, and the adults all sneak gifts to each other even though every year we agree on NO adult exchanges. :) It is a very lovely evening. Saturday morning finds us home and doing our own personal Christmas, where the kids open gifts from Mom and Santa. I know it all sounds so simple, but to me it is a very nice occassion. Some time back we would go on a sleigh ride every Christmas Eve, and I really miss that. Perhaps that is a tradition I should try to get going again....
Well i have no children it's just my hubby and me but our tree always goes up 2wks before christmas day...bless your 3yrs old they always get so excited at these times....it sounds lovely how you do it, you get the same thing with large familys here in the UK and decorations usually start the end of october in the home.
I say that sounds lovely at your parents swpping gifts playing music etc then christmas day besides to top extra fun, it all sounds beautiful.
Well if you get the sleigh rides going again just you becareful :)...me and my hubby are having christmas dinner out, he's always cooked but for the last 2yrs we've eaten out on christmas day and the meals was so good but where we've booked now we often have a meal there...so 3rd time lucky i hope.
What a beautiful post! I am still busy getting the house deep cleaned, dusting walls and ceilings, hubs helped me take all the ceiling lights down to wash tonight, took some draped down from a special rod he built me, so I could wash those windows and drapes! Washing mirrors, pictures, lamps... you get the idea! Actually made it to the grocery store too. It was nearly 70 degrees here today, so without that cold weather, I felt pretty good, hopefully, I will NOT have to pay for it tomorrow!
Going out to dinner on Christmas sounds like a great idea, there was one holiday when my son and the kids were invited elsewhere, we went to the Casino, had a fabulous dinner there and got lucky on the slots! ha!
Hope that you are well!
Love and hugs,
SK

Wel Susan if this christmas dinner turns out not to good, ste sad in furture he's going to carry on doing them...he just things it's lovely to get out because we spend the new year on our own...and at 12 the front door goes open and the back to loose the new year in, i'm terrible for it.
That sounded lovely with the Casino..never been to one in my life and when i come to think in general never really been anywhere much not like other people.
Please do takecare it easy mate and all my love Terri xxx
I just sat down to rest, has to be a lot of resting, you know! Been up since before dawn and getting more cleaning done, trying to be as quiet as possible! I don't think I'm an OCD cleaner, but who's to say, ha! I know you could dust here everyday, so always something to do! I like all cotton for everything, so that makes a lot of dust and dust mites, gotta stay at 'em! ha! Our dryer is on the main floor too, and that makes dust. Love our little cottage but would kill for storage space, a full time housekeeper/cook would be ideal if we're wishing!
We have a new Casino just 20 minutes away, the horse track has always been there, used to go there with my girlfriends on 'men's night', anyway then came slots, then tables. I would rather use the money to shop on line than gamble really, and shopping online is about as far as I go with shopping! Do have to go out for a riding toy for the little one, so we go to Walmart in the middle of the night when the store is basically empty, you just have to dodge the stockers! The Walmart is right by the track, still a lot of riding for me!
Alright break is over, time to rehang curtains and drapes!
