If you find food to use in place of Deplin would you let us know. I was on Deplin for a month, felt great but can't afford to take it all the time. Thanks!

Yea so I had to stop taking it because insurance wouldnt cover it :( bummer
Hi Megan! Yes, my new doctor just started me on this about 3 weeks ago. I'm not getting quite the same results as you, but am still hopeful. She prescribed it to help with my anxiety and depression.
Just a warning to everyone. If getting the generic for this make sure that it is the actual L-methylfolate. Some pharmacies don't carry the L-m and use the plain folate as a generic. My doctor was surprised when my pharmacy had the actual L-m as the generic for Deplin. Plain folate won't work.
This is a great post, Megan.

NO! IT"S A MISUNDERSTANDING. L-methylfolate is not the same as folate or folic acid! My doctor was so clear on this and took a great deal of time explaining it. The L-m goes around the cells and effects them in a different way than folate. Totally different stuff.
It is available in generic at Walgreens. Most insurances will cover generic.
Dottie, see if your insurance will pay for the generic. It is only recently available. I got mine at Walgreens. Remember it is NOT the same as folate or folic acid.

I was able to get the generic, which is just newly out.
