My Doctor recently indroduced me to Deplin. I started to take it three days ago and I is a medical food. It is L-methylfolate which is found in food which basicall makes it sort of like a vitamin. Well after taking it for three days my whole world has changed in the sense of having a lot more energy, motivation, and happiness. I would definitely suggest it to you all. If you have taken it or did in the past please tell me what you think and those of you who have not taken it or heard of it, please research it and give it a go, i think you would be pleasantly surprised, please get back at me and let me know thanks

Wow! This sounds very promising! Is this in pill form? I hope this continues to help you! I don't take any anti-depressants, but cold do with more energy, motivation and happiness for sure! Thanks so much for posting this, it will be on my list of things to talk about when I go see all 3 of my Doctors!

Oh yes, you should be excited, I'm excited for you! A medical food, I love the idea! I have read some promising info on nutraceuticals, and this is obviously one of the champions!

Oh man, they are getting good results with this for Osteoarthritis! So many of our members suffer from this! I am really excited about this. I posted about this on our fibro and arthritis group, I want everyone to start talking to their Doctors about this!
Thanks a thousand for this info! Hope it does you nothing but good!
thank you and thanks for letting everyone else know!
Hi. Thanks for this tip:-) is this the same as optimised folate? I'm asking as I found this on Amazon when searching for deplin. I am definitely going to give its go. I will let you know how it is for me. Xx
It does sound promising!! I have just sent an email to their official website to find out if Deplin is available in Canada if so I will definitely be discussing this with my doctor on my next visit! Thank you Megan for this great news! I'm so happy this is working for you it gives us great hope!
Best wishes and continue to feel energized, motivated and happy!

can't seem to find it available in Australia
You can get it in Australia. It's really just Folate or Folic Acid (vitamin B9).
I found this on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Metagenics-ActiFolate®/dp/B004366MIG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1369665023&sr=8-1&keywords=ActiFolate
Not sure if you can get this brand there. Hope this helps!
Hello Megan,
My psychiatrist prescribed it for me once and my depression disappeared. I don't ever remember feeling so good. Unfortunately my insurance considers it a food supplement and won't cover it so I only had it for one month. I hope you're able to continue with it.
Gentle Hugs,
Dottie
I also take a “medical food” called limbrel which is for arthritis. I have taken it for almost a year and notice a huge difference in the stiffness of my joints. I would recommend this to anyone to try. My insurance wouldn’t cover it so my doctor gave me a card through the manufacturer so I only pay $50 per month, it’s absolutely worth it! It’s great to hear of more of these types of “medical foods” that are helpful because they are generally good for you with rare side effects, thanks for sharing Megan!
Hi Megan and thanks for sharing this worth us. I'm delighted that it's giving you real, noticeable results and I hope it continues to do so. Please do continue to share your results with us; I'm extremely interested in knowing its longer term results. I've just read up on this product and am interested but the cost...well, if I hear of more people going on it and having great results, I'll bite the bullet and buy it. So thank you for letting us know about it and congratulations to you for finding something so helpful! It's not often that our members find a real winner in the pain reduction area.
Thanks for sharing this, Have hope. I'm going to have to ask my doc about this and the Deplin. Very interesting products. Exciting to hear how they are helping you and Megan!
I have been taking Deplin for a few months now. Doctor has been giving me samples because my insurance will only pay for the tablets (not the capsules), but every pharmacy in my area cannot get the tablets?!? I even called the manufacturer and still can't get this filled. Glad that I have a doc that is willing to give me as many samples as I need for this. I am using Deplin with other meds, so I don't know if it is the Deplin or the mixture that is helping. You are the first person that I have heard using this. Thanks for your post.
Hi megan,
I talked to my Rheumatologist about Deplin today, he was unfamiliar with it, so he looked it up on his smart phone, and told me it was in essence Folic Acid, and that I could take up to 800 units per day. The difference in price is well over $100.00, so unless your insurance pays for all of the script, you may want to reconsider which you would prefer to purchase!
Hey, a hundred bucks is a fortune to us!
Hope this helps you out!
Wishing you well,
SK
I took Deplin for a month and my depression was so much better. My insurance won't cover it at all. I'm glad to know there's another alternative if my doc can't get me samples.

Interesting!! I just found this through research and wondered about it. Thank you for sharing your story. I am going to look into it. May I ask what it costs?
