I started on 30mg. of cymbalta for one week and stared feeling a lot better with less pain. Now the doctor put me upto 60mg. a day and I still feel not bad but I can’t stand the severe headaches,I have only been on 60mg. for 3 days now. How long does it take for these headaches to stop while on Cymbalta?

I am so sorry to hear you are suffering this with cymbalta. Unfortunately the side effects of some meds are too much to put up with. I have no experience of cymbalta, I hope some other members will help you. Also, it sometimes takes a while and a bit of trial and error to get the meds that work best for you.

I remember having headaches and neck pain with cymbalta at first - so bad that even going to bed didn’t help. Oddly enough, the suffering that had sent me to the rheumatologist originally had already disappeared. My fear of returning to the original level of suffering motivated me to keep taking cymbalta and hope my body would right itself. It did, but it took about 10 days. I guess the important question to consider is, are you having a reaction to the cymbalta (which could mean you should stop taking it now) or is your body struggling to adjust to the new dose? Have you spoken to your physician?

I think I’m just having trouble adjusting to the 60. While I was on 30 I had no problems. I will be asking the doctor on Tuesday when I see him again and thank you for your input.
At least I know I’m not the only one with these headaches.
