Cymbalta now has a generic!

I went to pick up prescriptions yesterday, dreading the amount I was going to have to pay, even with my insurance copy. When she rang it up, it was $50.00 less than usual. I figured something was wrong so me and the pharmacy tech looked through them all. And she said, you have them all, the Cymbalta has a generic now. It made my day! I was paying a $65.00 copy for it, now it is on the $15.00 co pay list. I know this is going to be a huge relief to a lot of you.

Just thought I would share the good news.

Took one today, so far I don't feel any different.

That is wonderful news. I used to take Cymbalta but had to stop because of the price. Thank you for posting.

Hi. That is good news. What is the name of the generic?

Thanks for sharing.

Jackie S.

It is called Duloxetine DR. It comes in strengths of 20mg, 30mg & 60mg.

I google it, there is an article about it, it was just approved a few days ago for distribution in US.

Have any of you had releif taking it? I live in easternu Europe but would find a way to get it if there’s even a small chance of it haleping

I thought about that and have been today, I was extra tired today, but have been for the last several days so can't really apply it to the change. Sure hope it is going to be fine. I take generics in all my other meds, but still might have a small change over lapse. I still have about 10 of the original, so I am going to alternate them for the next 20 days. That might help that some.

The first year I took it, it worked great. But this last year, as far as pain, hasn't helped as much, but I remember before taking it the pain was so bad I couldn't sleep at night. I don't have that much pain anymore, so I know it's probably helping more than I realize. I've been taking it for 2 years.

Hooray!!!! That's a huge discount! Now some people out there will have a chance of trying it for their pain. Thank you for sharing this and congrats to you on saving $50!

Rosebudsmom,

I think you're right and it's still working but you don't realize how much as there still is some pain. If I ever forget to take a dose of my Lyrica, my GOD do I feel it later!

Yeah, that is $600.00 a year. :)

Thank you so much
