I’m going to the internal medicine doctor on Monday morning (he treats fibro and was said to also diagnose it) and am wondering what medicines you guys take, what you stay away from, and any helpful information about what to take and what not to take. I am very voiced in the doctor’s office and have no problem saying “i’d rather try this medicine instead” so I’m wondering what has worked for y’all.
I was started out on Cymbalta for pain then they added Trazodone to help me sleep...then Nourotin...My Rheumy also prescribed Flexeril and Norco...I do not take either of these unless I absolutely have to...I hold them as a last resort on the very bad days. Remember that some of these meds. have some odd side effects... I now one made me feel drunk... but keep taking the meds ... the side effects will stop once the meds get into your system... So Please...allow the meds the time they need. I know when I took the Cymbalta I noticed a change the next morning...While I still had pain and twitching it was not as bad.
I hope your DR. gets you on the right combination for you.

Well, I’m not happy this morning. I woke up, forced myself out of bed, and made the trip to the Internal Medicine doctor. When I got there I was told they’d been trying to call me since 8 this morning to let me know we were going to have to reschedule. They hadn’t called the right number for me though because they hadn’t checked my paper work, and the number they had on file was from 10 years ago or so. So, it’ll be another week before I see them.
Oh I am sorry to hear that. It is so draining and frustrating when things like that happen. Hang in there and hugs!
