Hello Fibro Friends,
I wanted to share that I just got approved for disability. I am so thankful! My award letter stated that by law social security has to reevaluate each case. It said…
Medical Improvement Expected -first review 6 to 18 months
Improvement Possible - reviewed about every 3 years
Improvement Not Expected - reviewed once every 5 to 7 years
My letter stated once every 5 to 7 years. I have additional conditions along with Fibromyalgia. So I am just curious if for others that have been approved for social security disability for Fibro, what the time frame was for re-evaluation?
Thanks in advance to those that don’t mind sharing this sort of information.
For me it was the 5 to 7 yrs. The SSI people sent me a letter stating that they would be conducting interviews & assessing my disability. I am guessing that they started with my Primary & my medical records, & that is as far as they got before ending the whole idea. M
I just got my written award letter last Monday, mine is permanent for pa. I was awarded for fibro, but also neurological, and degenerate joint disease and mental health issues. I have not gotten the amount, but I did look on the SS site and it said 400$ per month, how can anyone survive in that. I’m praying it is a mistake. So glad you got approved. Hugs, and congrats. Jackie
Wow, you're lucky! I have been denied and barely got my appointment for my hearing with the judge. I'm so nervous and scared that I may be denied again. I have chronic back pain and Fibro, plus anxiety and depression along with panic attacks.
I hope that everything goes well, because until then will I be at ease..lol. I've been stressing more on top of my chronic stress. Anyway, good luck to all those who are in the same situation as I am..and if anyone has any advice?
Hello Barbara,
I was approved this past month or so and I turned 62 in January 2015. I applied when I was around 60. My attorney said due to my age I most likely be left alone but they have to say a review in 5-7 years. He stated that they are so backed up that unless you are younger and then they seem to concentrate on the younger folks.
Was wondering at what age did you get diagnosed?
