Extremely Frustrated! The same day I get my denial letter, I had been diagnosed with MS! as well as Fibro, Osetoporosis, arthritis, degenerative joint disease, and the list goes on I called SSDI and was told it would be up to 14 months until I get a hearing! I can't wait that long, do you think I should file another case due to the different diagnosis> Advice appreciated
Debnted,
I went with Allsup and got approved on the first try. They said the odds for getting a case approved is 50/50 on the first go round if you use them for the case. By the third go round (the hearing) the odds go up to 80% in your favor if you use Allsup. Those are good odds! But if you don't win the first time, be willing to try again. However, I hope you get yours in the next 2 months. Good luck!!!
I know what a big relief it is, Sharon. A HUGE relief. I hope you are now much less stressed and can relax a bit.
Jackie,
Are you using a lawyer for your case? If so, please let them know of the addition of MS to your diagnosis. I don't know the answer to your question but they surely would. If you aren't using a lawyer, you might want to consider doing so. It seems to me that those of us using a lawyer tend to get approved quicker than those without. I know that most of us don't want to lose the money that they'd take as their fee, but if you consider the months lost due to appeals that might not have occurred if you used a lawyer, then you can see that you might also be losing money that you could have had, had you been approved earlier due to the lawyer.
I hope that someone else can answer your question and oh boy, what a rotten new diagnosis. I'm truly sorry that you have MS too. I can see why you need the approval so much. And this system is so frustrating for anyone truly sick.
With much sympathy,
Petunia

Yes I am feeling less stressed now and also feeling blessed! I couldn’t have ask for my hearing Tuesday to have gone any better, this time the judge was in a good mood, don’t know if that help me out or not but hey it works for me!!!
That is such great news. I’m so so so so happy for you. I hope i get mine
Thanks Teesa, I really hope you do to, have you got a hearing scheduled?
I had a hearing but didn’t haven’t a lawyer to represent me. The judge let me reschedule so that i could get one and to get things set up. So I’ve been working on that. I’m now waiting for my new hearing date. Im terrified. I need this. I have no other options left
That is a long wait!! well mine ended up being 18 months, that was back in may, the judge decided he wanted a dr to review my case so it all ended up being 20 months, it’s ridiculous!! I’ve been told they do it on purpose, the longer the wait the bigger their cut will be!! and I don’t doubt it at all. It sounds like you need a lawyer if you haven’t already, they may be able to speed things up, that’s what I would suggest. Good luck! Your in my thoughts & prayers
I have been trying to get disability but they tell me my case isn't strong enough. I have a new court date and no lawyer. It's so depressing. I have fibro, anxiety, depression, asthma, nerve damage in my right foot, migraines, ect and they tell me fibro isnt a disability . I don't know what to do anymore. I just wish somebody would believe me that this is so painful and help me.
