The Lord has brought me thru a terrible battle and given me strength when I was on my knees. I received my letter from SS. They have approved my disability request. I am still in shock because it was only 5 months. I am sure that has to be a record. Now it is just a matter of finishing up all the paperwork and then I will have health insurance again, rent assistance, etc...Praise be to God!!
Dear Nanex3,
I applied for disability. The course and appeal, finally court appeal took years. I had documentation. I lost the appeal. It is so frustrating-I look fine on the outside, but the doctors and courts don't understand the symptoms I have on the inside-the pain, etc. By the time we went to court, my fibro was worse. My attorney was terrible. I won't say who it was for fear they will go after me for libel. But the attorney gave me no directions, no guidance, etc., and appeared to not even remember my case when I would speak to her in her office. She was disorganized, and did not present the important symptoms that keep me from holding down a job.
Does anyone have this same experience? I plan to start the whole process over again, as I have new symptoms that are so frustrating. My husband is a witness to my disability. I would love to hear from anyone who has good advice regarding application to SSI for disability. Thanks!
AMEN!!!
Congratulations!!!
what did they approve you for I was denied for fibro
Congratulations! I was approved my first time applying for SSD. I still have a year's worth of wait till I'm eligible, under SSD, for Medicare. I'm so glad you're getting health insurance. I wish I could afford it. {{{{{{{{{{{nanax3}}}}}}}}}}}}} I'm so happy for you, I know what a relief that piece of paper is.
Fibro, Chronic Fatigue, Degenerative Disc Disease, Restless Leg and a few others. I think that the most important part of applying is NOT working, not even part-time. I know that it is frustrating and so expensive not to, but that is what the key is. Also, Fibro was just accepted as a disability condition w/in the last couple of years.
First of all, get a good attorney...there are many that specialize in disability and will only receive a fraction of your back pay...the amount they receive is controlled by Social Security. Also make sure your primary care dr is on the same page as you are.
Praying for you!!
I am so encouraged every time to hear news that one more fibro sufferer got disability!!
My problem is to find a new disability attorney. Do any of you know of a good one in Albuquerque?
