I recently saw a documentary where meditation was used by inmates in a maximum security prison, with amazing results. It made me wonder if it would help me lower stress and thus decrease flare ups. It certainly would not hurt, I just don’t have a clue how to start !!! Thanks in advance for any information !!!
I meditate but since I can’t sit the way they do I just put my headset on and lay down and close my eyes and focus on the Lord and His goodness…I get so much out of and it is refreshing. that’s I do it
I love that !!! I think that how I will start…you can’t go wrong with that ! Tough as this past year has been the Lord has never left my side. Thank you. I am open to all ideas so if anyone else has some thoughts on this, let me know
Hi chadsirishgirl,
I do something like this when I lie down, I just try to rid myself of any negative thoughts, clear my mind and just picture a healing energy surrounding me, focus on a flower or waterfall. There are some good tapes/cds for this too. Some are pretty good, while others are on the comical side! Which may not be a bad idea either!
Wishing you success!
SK
Proper meditation is really amazing and very helpful to us. It’s quite hard to get into but with plenty of practice it really does work. CDs are good with vocal instructions if there isn’t a class. It’s hard to read with your eyes closed and trying to clear your mind lol. But I do love books and you can learn lots of techniques using breathing and visualisation exercises. I used to do it when I was younger to for psychic development. Still never won the lottery!
I’m going to dig mine out and get a couple more now I’m off the meds for a while and the insomnia has got worse.
Good luck and have fun!
SK and Jo, It’s good to know that you both found it helpful. I actually did some research online and there are some classes here locally ! I sent for more information on the classes. I am really excited about going Yay !
Hello CIG,
How are you feeling today?
Yes, I have been meditating for years and have had amazing results -- spiritually, at least.
There is a little book called, Getting Into The Gap, that has a CD with it. It explains a (ONE, there are many) way to do it and I learned a lot in my first experiences.
I can say that in my meditations I have seen angels. One named Stan-Lee' is always there when I need to go away and refresh myself. At least that's what my mind sees and enjoys so I go with it. He's taken me to faraway blissful areas where others have joined me and provided joy, light, love, and massage! LOL!
Some say you have to clear your mind, but I don't. The mind is just too busy, so I allow it to go where it will, but I do have an intention and when things finally process out and get quiet, I remind myself of the intention and say affirmations like, "I am peaceful,' 'I have divine health," things like that. You can find a lot about affirmations online.
Recently I pulled out my brain entrainment series after seeing it highlighted on Dr Oz (he is so awesome with spotlighting alternative medicine -- and the fibro show is about to start here in the East Coast USA) and I am listening to it for 30-45 minutes a day -- no voice, just tones that help balance the brain.
