Dose anybody get blurry vision out of no where? So your reading and out of nowhere it’s like you are trying to read with your eyes crossed.
Hello Cindi
When I have been at the computer for too long I get blurred vision. Optometrists recommend that after 20 minutes at the computer you look away at something about 15 feet away for one minute before you go back to the computer. This would also apply to any close work like reading, doing counted crosstitch.
However, I just got a new pair of glasses and they have now made an adjustment in the center viewing section of your lenses that helps this problem. I have been wearing the new glasses for a month so I can say that it helps.
hi cindi - good to talk to you again. Yes I have noticed a blurriness come out of nowhere whether I am reading or watching television. I don't know why this happens, but I DO know that some of the physical things that have developed since my FIbro, seem to all tie in together somehow. Laurie
I personally don’t. But I do remember when I was trying to rule things out, my doctor ruled out MS because of lack of double vision. Have you been checked for that?
Rachel, that would make sence if it happened after readying for a while, but sometimes it happenes after only a few minutes. And looking away dosen’t help. Laurie always a pleasure ;), good to know I’m not alone. Michael well my dr told me a couple years ago I don’t have that. I actully asked him if I might have ms he said no. Don’t exactly know how he decided that since he did no tests before he told me I don’t have MS.
That’s awesome that you don’t. Just wanted to point out that I was told it was a symptom and if it’d have helped you catch something early than great. Glad you don’t have it, though!
Thanks Michael, it’s a little scary how close the symtoms for MS and Fibro are. I guess since since my dr didnt want to have spinal fluids checked I have fibro. Drs know everything at least they think they do;)
I don't get double vision, but gabapentin gives me blurry vision.
I have off and on. The doc says it's a migraine. I thought you had to have pain for a migraine, apparently not. Also, I take plaquenal for lupus which can affect your eyesight, but I see my eye doc on a regular basis and it's not from the pills. It happened once when I was driving, scared me to death, I pulled over fast and just waited...Anyhow, my advice is to start with your eye doc, and go on from there to make sure it's not something serious. Good luck :)
I would check all of the side effects of all of the meds you are on. Many of the scripts that doctors give to Fibro patients have "blurry vision" hidden somewhere among the hundreds of other glorious side effects. I have a heck of a time when it comes time to get new glasses and forget driving after dusk. At times it's hard to decide which is worse, the disease or the side effects from all the meds!
