Hi Ahava. I don't live in your area, so I don't know. This website has "physician recommendation" discussions. Maybe there is something there.

Also, have you done a google search for a rheumatologist or fibro specialist in your area?

I hope you find a good one. It takes time and patience. Good luck to you.

Hi Kitty. Thank you for replying. I've looked at these sites but still no Drs in my area. I will keep researching Thanks again. Ahava

Don't lose hope. I have been searching for 6 years and I just found one that really understands me (I hope). Keep looking. There's one there.

Youre' welcome,

Kitty

Kitty. 6yrs that's a long wait. You do have patience. But I'm full of physical pain and anxiety depression and beating myself up because of the major weight gain. I've tried 7 sessions of physical therapy it doesn't help. The therapists say when I lose the weight I'll feel better. They simply don't get it. I'd love to help myself I just keep on trying. Thanks for listening. Ahava

It's so easy to gain weight. We become couch potatoes because we hurt so bad and have such fog. Not to mention the meds we take.

I have had bad luck with physical therapy too. I did try a different version of PT, called Manual Therapy. They actually do things to you, rather than showing you how to do things. It was better than PT, but still didn't work for me.

My doctor has a book called "Figuring out Fibromyalgia". In it she recommends a type of therapy that sounds even better than manual therapy. She has fibro and this Myofascial Release (MFR) helped her immensely. I have to find someone who practices this correctly. I went to a local massage place last week and asked for one who performs the MFR and she hurt me bad. I learned a lesson. I need to find one who works with fibro people.

So I see my doc tomorrow and I have a list a mile long for her. Then I have acupuncture Thursday, which always helps me for a few days..

I hope you find someone soon, Ahava. Keep me posted.
