Looking for a good Dr that specializes in treating Fibomyalgia in Western MA
You can Google your area. Word of mouth from friends is also great. I see a rheumatologist but all of them don’t treat fibro. Do you have a teaching hospital in your area?
Yes but my ins wont cover me there
Talk to your insurance company they should have a list of Dr for fibro that they cover. Some times you can get a waiver to see a Dr if they don’t. have one in your area. Some internal medical Dr will see you for fibro.
I am not sure there are any GOOD Doctors left and I get all my cognizant information from the Internet " User’s Reviews" of various treatments. Gabapentin has helped but not much more then Ibuprofen + light exercise. Currently engaging in home Yoga acupressure points which also provide some relief. Surprisingly just walking seems to help more then anything else. Good luck in finding an understanding Doctor !
Hi @debfred89
I just joined this site about 2 months ago and am just reading your topic. I live in South East MA and I travel to Boston to my Pain Dr. I go to Brigham & Woman’s Hospital but not the hospital itself. They have a clinic at a satellite location in the Chestnut Hill area off Route 9. I didn’t check to see how far west you are. I currently have Medicare and Medicaid. Hope all is well!
