Does anyone exercise? If so what kinds of things do you do? Also, what other remedies or supplements help you get through day to day? I really want to control my fibro naturally (even though I am still on pain meds and muscle relaxers). I am young (25) and work a full time job as well as going to school this fall. Anything helps!
Hello Lauren15,
I find that stretching type exercise helps especially on days where everything feels tight and seriously achy. It has been suggested by my doctor that a yoga type class would be good. Just remember to listen to your body, you are a very active 25yr old and that can cause serious flares. I am a young 46yr old who is also very active with working 60hrs a week, martial arts (doctor doesn't like) and gym workout (he also doesn't like). But I have come to realize that sometimes I have to pull the reins in and take down time.
Hope this helps.
I do a lot of walking, yoga, some weight lifting.......very occassionally running. And I agree....stretch, stretch, stretch.
I teach water fitness and a little land - always stretching. Yoga is therapy for me - doesn't always feel good but sure does afterwards.
Rest...I do that a lot. Putter around the house a little, sit a little.
I work part time - cut back my teaching hours, work a little office work...sitting helps !
And of course healthy food & hydration is helpful.....as is coffee !
Hi Lauren15s,
I am sorry you are not getting the support you need from your family. I hope going the natural way for treatment does work for you. But please keep us posted on how you are doing and know we are here for you all the time.

I was sent to do physical therapy - water therapy. Once insurance cut me off from that I go to the local YMCA they have classes at all levels. Of course I am usually the only male there. But since it is in the water it is very easy. I swear by it and will use the pool in my complex which I can do when I want to go. I am spending two months in the Keys next winter so I can use the ocean and get away from the cold weather in Michigan. The Cold temps are hard on my Fibro.
