Fibromyalgia and exercise

Hi all. I'm just curious if anyone has any exercise tips for fibromyalgia? Currently I go to the gym and workout with elliptical and yoga/core classes. However, when I do workout (practically every day), my CPK (muscle wasting enzyme) skyrockets. I will talk about this with my doctor, but I was wondering if anyone here has any tips for exercising without over-doing it?

Thanks!

Hello Laura, I'm new here, and will be following to see what others have to say. Being able to exercise is a huge challenge for me. I hope you get lots of helpful feedback. I'm going to use it for myself!

I too do water therapy. I tried a class but it was too strenuous and I paid for it for days. I start out walking and then lunges to stretch my legs out. I then go in deeper water and and run in place to get my heartbeat up. I try to do it for at least 10 minutes, but can’t some days. I then do arm circles and figure eights and end with a noodle behind my neck and do deep breathing floating in my back. This really relaxed me and your body sinks when you blow out the air and rises when you inhale. I try to go at least 3 times a week, but on days I can’t I take my dog for a walk. As we all know, some days are better than others.

Water exercise has worked the best for me.
