Congratulations, Sue! That's great news for you! Do you mind sharing how long you've been waiting and if this was your first time applying?
I hope you can move now and get a pool. Wouldn't that be a nice way to fight the fibro? :-D
Hugs,
Petunia
Thank you everyone!! This is the first time I tried and I did it without a lawyer too. I applied on Jan 19,2012 and got denied. So I appealed and had my hearing March 14, 2013. I made sure I brought all my medical records with me. The judge I had was sooo nice and easy to talk to. And I got my letter of approval April 11th. I didnt get my check yet. So still waiting on that. but sooo relieved its over!! So for everyone trying dont give up!!!
Hugs,
Sue

WONDERFUL NEWS. GOOD FOR YOU!
Great news Sue … You’ll have more time to focus on keeping well.
That is indeed wonderful news, Sue. Congratulations.
For now just get used to the idea that you have been accepted for Disability. That must lift a load off your shoulders. You need money for everything but when you can no longer work that cuts off your source of income.
I'm glad you shared this wonderful news with all of us.
So happy for you! A little advice make a file and put all your paperwork in it about getting disability as the process will crop up again soooner or later .It will be easier to fill out the paperwork the next time if you have acopy, don't think you will remeber everything as the brain sometimes gets the fog and doesn't want to cooperate . Again so happy for you !!!!!!Good luck Sarah2
I am so happy for you.
I was diagnosed a year ago in March. My Rheumatologist told me I could not get disability in Illinois. Not sure if anyone else know anything about getting disability in Il???
Yes I went through the hearing and without a lawyer. It was pretty simple and the judge was super nice! It only lasts about 1/2 hour or so. I was scared going in but it all worked itself out. I hope your hearing goes just as well as mine did.
Gentle hugs,
Sue
That is so cool!!!
