Has Anyone Seen the Research on Melatonin?

I tried melatonin again about a month ago, this time much less. First about 5mcg, but even the smallest crumble, 1mcg (about 5%, 1/20th of the 2mg extended release pill I used in April) was bad. Whatever the dose, I woke up all the same but feel terrible.
My GP suggested that it may be an interaction with the GABA/serotonin, which it increases, but when I first tried it I didn’t take any GABA. To expand on that however, my GABA/serotonin however was then being increased by 2x289mg passiflora and 1x200mg Rhodiola, and is now also being increased by GABA, P5P, NAC, NADH, and theanine, as well as increasing passiflora to 4x289mg and rhodiola to 2x200mg.
It might be interesting to try melatonin alone without the other 7, if it were only about the sleep, but everything else is working on loads of my symptoms, not just sleep. GABA is my most “pleiotropic”, i.e. it alone has reduced 10+ of my symptoms ever since I started it (April 2021). So no chance at the moment for melatonin for me, even tho my sleep is still “improvable”…
