Head or neck injuries?

Does anyone remember getting a head or neck injury predating the onset of fibro symptoms? I just read this seems to be one factor many with fibro have in common.

Oh gosh, YES! I've been smacked in the noggin a good six or seven times. The last time (2 and 1/2 years ago) I feel backwards while in a summer chair, hitting my head on a sharp rock jutting out from the ground. Got a good concussion out of that crack to the head. The other times I was ok, as in no concussions. So yes, I would qualify for that particular prerequisite for fibro.

Yes, the third time I was rear ended in a car accident was when all of this was kicked up! NO doubt about the whip lash at all! I was already predisposed for autoimmune as it runs on my mother's side of the family. I guess you call that the double whammy!

I went to my chiropractor today and when he adjusted my neck, the headache went away immediately! What a wonderful feeling of relief! Hope you can find some too, maypop!

yes, a few.

I was in a car accident just before my symptoms began and got serious neck injury.

Yes… When I was about 12 I dove into a pool off a diving board… INSTANTLY I knew something was wrong… VERY wrong… I had SEVERE PAIN for months… My mom didn’t take me to a doctor… I had a friend who would ‘crack my back’ for me… Not ‘smart’ but it gave me some relief… Also, at 14 I had an abusive boyfriend who beat me in the back of my head/neck over and over… I know, this sounds bad… I’m just being honest… Yes, I think a lot of my Fibro comes from MANY aspects… Injuries, stress, being type-A… Depression, substance abuse, heredity, LIFE. At 27 I had a car accident and was hit from behind… My neck was severely injured… I went to a chiropractor for 2 years… It REALLY helped!! I have less pain now but if I could still afford to see a chiropractor I would GO!!

Yes me to, I have slipped on ice and severely
damaged my neck, then afew years after was involved in a rear end shunt - resulting in whiplash!!!
Plus I am/was type A personality and have autoimmune system problems.
Somehow I suspect I was destined to suffer with FM & CFS
