Long before my fibro diagnosis, I suffered from tension headaches and migraines. I thought I had finally gotten them under control and haven’t had a major headache in a while, but last week I started having mild daily headaches. Today is a full-blown migraine with shoulder pain that won’t completely go away, even after rest and two medications. Is anyone else having frequent headaches? If so, what are you doing for them? Thanks in advance.
I get frequent migraines but I can only tell you what works for me.
I’m not endorsing this or suggesting anyone try this but here goes…
A couple Excederin(or any pain reliever with caffeine) & a can of Starbucks coffee/energy drink.
Almost never fails & within a half hour I’m right as rain again
Hi Tess,
Nice to hear from you! Sorry to hear of the headaches! My Chiropractic adjustments help me with my neck, for tension, injury and even sinus, I do not have migraines though. I know there are a couple members who get botox shots for migraines, but that is as far as my knowledge goes on the subject!
Hope more will respond and be of help to you!
Wishing you well,
SK
When I was going through menopause I suffered from killer headaches. I was under a lot of stress at the time and i am sure not eating or resting enough because of my job. About the same time as the headaches began i experienced my first episode of Fibro.
The headaches went away after i passed completely through menopause. What a relief. Not much I could do about them except cry because i am very cautious about taking drugs since often the side effects can be so dangerous. What I would try is ice cream, and several glasses of cold water. Also suck on ice cubes if you can.
I hope you can get some relief since I know how painful they can be and how much you miss out on when suffering.
I get headaches constantly and was told i have chronic migranes and was once put on a daily medication (inderol *spelling is probably wrong) but it seemed to help and also was given Zomig that i could take if i got a headache still and it would usually help it go away within 30 mins- an hour.
Hi everyone,
Thanks so much for your replies, tips, and kind words. While I don't wish our situation on anyone, being on this site has really boosted my spirits and let me know that I'm not alone or out of my mind.
I had to go to urgent care yesterday for a shot of toradol and benadryl, which took the edge off but didn't make this migraine completely disappear. I'm following up with a neurologist, and I'll keep you guys posted. In the meantime, I'm going to look into massage and botox and start going back to the chiropractor again--I was going pretty reguarly a few months ago, but I've allowed my job to get in the way lately.
You guys take care, and I'll talk to all of you again soon! :)
