Yesterday I have spent almost the entire day in bed. I know there are others like me who have so much pain or are so tired that it's hard just to make it through the day. In the past, I joined other Fibromyalgia communitites, but I did not get much helpful feedback. I hope to be more fortunate here :-)
My pain started in 2001, that's way before I got the official diagnosis. When I look back at my life I see that I probably had the precursors for most of my life, with people thinking I was just making it up . Even today I meet doctors who look at me sideways, because they don't even believe that it's a serious disease, just some people making a big deal out of a little pain!
I have created a drawing of my pain to better illustrate what I am feeling.
Hello Josef. Welcome! Great job on the illustration. Anyways this place is great. I think you will find that you will get a lot of feedback and support. And there are great discussions to read over that may assist you through your pain.
Again welcome. I know how you feel about making it through the day. I often take naps just to get to the evening. Rest when you can. Listen to your body.

Welcome, I think you will find the folks on this site to be very helpful and friendly. The diagram is awesome. Thank you so much for sharing. I have the same pain as you. Today its on my left side, it bounces from left to right. And my hips hurt. I love the visual and its great to show your doctor over time where the pain is located.
Hi Josef, I do understand what you are going through, my doctor finally realized how much pain I have. We have tried many meds and all of them had too many bad side effects. Last week he started me on morphine. Kind of having anxiety over this, if anyone knows anything about morphine or has taken it, please let me know.
Hi Josef, and welcome! I'm sorry that you've had to join the fibro club but I'm glad that you're here. There are many super people here who'll try to help you with your fibro journey.
Your pain diagram is a great way of quickly letting us know where your fibro hurts the most. It looks like your shoulders, neck and chest are your fibro spots. It's horrid trying to get to sleep when the neck hurts from fibro. It gives new meaning to, "The Princess and the Pea." Do you also get weakness in your arms as well?
I still can't get over what a neat way you've figured out of letting us know where your pain is. i think we all should do one for our own pain and post it to our personal profile page. Thank you for sharing this with us!
Yeah, we have to deal with doctors and friends and family who think we're making our symptoms up. To them, I offer this:
http://www.redorbit.com/news/health/1112877149/fibromyalgia-tissue-... This is the most up to date research on fibro and it explains a lot. Without an ample blood flow, our muscles, etc. will not get the proper nutrients for energy, etc. and will not get rid of waste products, such as lactic acid, which gives your muscles that achy feeling they get after a long run. Or how they feel when you have fibro. Inability to control the body's temperature properly would also account for ice cold hands and/or feet, which many fibro people seemingly suffer from.
I think you've made a good choice by coming here. I hope it's helpful for you.
Thank you very much for your warm welcome. That means a lot to me!
Well, I'm still in search of a good doctor. I will not give up hope that I will still meet him/her one day. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in the area of Florida? Sometimes I get weakness in my arms, but the side may vary.
Has anyone of you tried cryotherapy so far? Is that helpful?
I recently found this pain card by chance. I think it is a simple way to illustrate when talking about pain. Not only with doctors, but also with my relatives. Thanks Petunia for the link and the great idea, I have posted the card to my personal profile page.
