My daughter has a hard time accepting that we cant do the things that we use to do and yet sometimes she pushes me to get around and not just feel sorry for myself bless her heart sometimes tho she pushes to hard, my son goes with the flow for the most part and my husband is here with me doing it all. anyways i look forward to having friends to talk to

Welcome!!! I hope to know you better. This IS the best find for me too!!! Look around & I am sure you will find some interesting items. M

Hi Moonangel! I am sure you will find this site friendly and informative. Are you satisfied with your current treatment plan? It is important to work with your doctor on a good treatment plan. It is hard for kids to understand, my daughter also has trouble understanding that mom can't do things sometimes. There are several good articles out there that help others understand what life with a chronic illness is like. You can google "the spoon theory" and it will bring up an article that I have found very helpful when talking to others. It might be something you can share with your daughter (depending on her age) that might help her understand. Also, Wikihow has an article on chronic pain, you can search in the box on the discussion page, that article is posted here. Hugs!!

Welcome Moonangel. How wonderful to have such a supportive family, yet it is a nice to have an outside resource where you can go to vent and share aspects of this disease that only other sufferers get. This site offers so much including a lot of positives from success stories in people finding things that work for them helping to alleviate some of their symptoms to wonderful humour guaranteed to put a smile on your face, to name a couple of things. There are many discussions on the different ways people have used to to explain the condition to families and friends as well as activities to share with our families that don't overtax us too much. I am glad you found us. Hugs.
