Hi I’m new here I found out I had fibro last year been slowly trying to get use to the idea, I am a 24 year old mom. I was in a major car accident at age 19 my vehical lost control flipped 4 times and I ended up tangled in the seat belts, it was an Chevy impala from those GMC recalls the vehicle just locked up and nothing worked…i wasn’t to badly hurt considering but after is when all my symptoms started. So far I have had a lot of symptoms and problems mostly pain and chronic migraines. Any suggestions on how to cope or how to manage being a mother with fibro is appreciated!
Hi I’m new here too but I’m an old lady probably the same age as your mum (49) I have had chronic pain since I was quite young (maybe 9 or 10) and diagnosed with fibro about age 35 I think. Anyway this is an old game for me and I have tried many different things. Some in the medical community, most not traditional that have helped. I will give you one strong advice, this beast is different for everyone but it is almost always progressive (slowly or quickly depending purely on luck and random chance no matter what the stupid doctors tell you) and incurable (no matter what crazy book, diet, theory, exercise etc.). It is NOT your fault that the doctors can’t see it and it is NOT your fault that they can’t fix it! DON’T let them intimidate, make you feel bad about, or minimize your pain because it is not theirs it is yours. I have a lot of different things wrong with me and I try not to let it get me down and just live my life. My motto is: If I wait until I am not in pain to do anything I will have missed my life. Don’t miss your life hon. Your kid(s) are only young once and so are you. Good luck and God Bless
