I hate those lyrica commercials!

I'm sure you've seen the commercials that advertise lyrica as a medicine for fibro. I hate them! First of all the people "pretending" to have fibro just mention widespread pain. We know its soooo much more than that. Secondly, after said person takes lyrica then they're back to "normal" and doing the things they want to do w/ no problem. What a load of bull! So, when people (like our families and friends) who don't suffer with fibro see such commercials, they're so ready to tell us all we need is lyrica and we'll be fine. I'm just venting. Thanks :)

Vents are probably my favorite post. My daughter also hates that commercial. She says they should see the side effects from it and nobody would take it. My rheumy increased my dose a little bit ago and I get loopy after I take it and my memory fog is worst. I am hoping this will go away after a while.

I have a coworker who says she has Fibro and takes Lyrica and needs nothing else! I know she can not have Fibro if one pills controlls all the effects from this horrible condition!

i hear ya and concur!!!! love and hugs

Ha Ha! I concur as well. They say nothing of what the real symptoms are. My husband even laughs at them. I just ordered refills of the many other prescriptions I need along with lyrica.

Lyrica gave ma a horrible pain in my upper thighs. It was worse than my usual pain. It scared the heck outta me. I was on a very low dose and decided to try something different.
I honestly think I found my perfect combo! My pain seems to be tollerable!!! 60 Mg of cymbalta, wellbutrin and norco. Istarted the wb wed. I know it seems soon, but my body reacts quickly to meds. My energy level is much better. I worked a full week and don’t feel like I’m dying! I actually feel decent.
Anyway, sorry to change the subject , i am just excited! Its prob all in my head, like this disease. lmao.
As for the commercial, I can’t stand any of them. Its just giving people the misconception that all we deal with is alittle pain. Please!! Get a clue. Do they have any idea what the wprd debilitating means??
Btw, does anybody have luck with lyrica?

I am so glad you're feeling good. That's great :) I just started lyrica low dose. My next appt. with my rheumy is Oct., so we'll have to see how I'm feeling by then. It's still tough for me cuz I've got fibro plus lupus. I see a lot of people taking wellbutrin. What does that medicine do?
