So maybe this is just me because I cannot take Lyrica or any of the other FDA approved medications for Fibro but when I see the implication of the advertisement for Lyrica as if you are not able to manage then you take this magic pill and now you can do just about everything you could before and bam you have your life back... ( They have changed it a bit recently it was even worse before).
What I wonder is how that must look like to all the judges in charge of our disability cases and thinking it cant be that BAD!!!
Does anyone else feel this way?
And don't get me wrong I am delighted for anyone it does help as this is a monster of a thing to have Fibro.
hi. i have not seen you in a while . i hope you are doing as well as can be or better. As far as the commercial goes and the judges I think that judges most probably know peeps who have fm or even may have it themselves.
i used lyrica for a few months but gained weight rapidly so i stopped
Thanks for the input Suzie..............I hope so because my judge has the lowest rating for aprovals only 12%!!!

I have been on Lyrica since June and I went up to 225mg twice a day. It does not help as well as the advertisement in my opinion. I think it just changed my sensation, so that instead of feeling a dull ache in my bones, joints and tender points, I felt sharper pain. The side effects also did not make it worth it, weight gain(25 pounds), poor memory, inability to think or talk straight, irritability. In agreement with my doctor, I have been weaning off of it, slowly and it isn’t easy. I have chills, sharper more constant pain, and aches that I have never felt before. I worry that either my pain is worse than I thought or the withdrawal is too painful to go through. Ah well… I hope you get approved by the judge.
Hi HeldbyWings, it is REALLY good to see you! I think that most judges understand that ALL medications advertised on TV / Radio / elsewhere are meant to SELL the medication. Anything advertised has a purpose and that is to present the item in the most attractable way in order to sell more. Luckily, I think most judges probably realize that. Regarding Lyrica, I haven't taken it so I can't share my experience with that medication. However, I have taken other medications that are advertised on TV and for sure, my results were not the same as the salesperson. I guess for me, it is important to read as much info as I can on a medication, talk my doctor or pharmacist about the medication, and then weigh the pros and cons of it for me to make my decision. Again, good to see you! Hugs!!
