Ibuprofen and Omeprazole

Hiya Sue!

I know Ibu has helped a few people, but not many if it’s from fibro.
Her changing thoughts are illogical considering the reason you stopped the previous killers were not that they didn’t work, but that they caused too bad side effects.
Instead it’d be important to go thru each pain type more closely: If it is fibro pain there are 3-4 meds to try, each with differing side effects. These might also work for nerve pain. A common one used there is gabapentin/Neurontin, which is also sometimes given for fibro. If that didn’t work then again the other 3-4 fibro meds are viable. That’d be pregabalin, duloxetine, amitriptyline and praps milnacipran.
Sure hope something works. But a part of the pain of course we have to learn to live with with the help of ACT/CBT and knowing and avoiding triggers.

And Omeprazole might well help the stomach problems, too, short-term if it’s from acid/GERD. However like naturopaths I’d say antacids increase acidity mid-term, cos the stomach compensates. Also the GERD might not come from hyperacidity but already from hypoacidity: the upper stomach sphincter muscle doesn’t get enough acid to signal it has to close, so it lets the acid thru into the oesophagus (reflux should actually be abbreviated GORD in British English).
So as always I’d prefer all the natural alternatives for acidity, almonds is my favourite.
In the last post you mentioned you couldn’t take Omeprazole, tho?

I wouldn’t say goodbye to summer yet, here at least we have very cold mornings, but this week is dry and sometimes very hot in the afternoon and evening to night. That’s the time of year we lose our clothing etc. (if we’re out and about) cos we have to take it off at 11!

After the swifts have left us and the blackbirds and robins have been living as recluse in the shadows, the robins at last are coming out again, and from today on are not just subsinging quietly in the bushes, but singing openly and loudly, wonderful, reminds of spring and early summer again. And here another summer sign: All the butterflies are out, the whites, the red admiral, the peacock. We have less than in Britain nowadays, so I’m always happy about the days they’re out!
