I'm a Newbie (to this site)

Hello, all! I can't believe I found a fibro chatroom. It's been 8 years now for me - Ugh!! Maybe we can swap ideas, tips and diet that helps w/ pain & energy!

Hi DPNY and welcome! I am glad you found us as well. I remember feeling like I had hit the lottery when I first came here, it is wonderful to have a community of others who understand. It doesn't take away the pain / illnesses but it does help cope with them. I am really looking forward to getting to know you. Hugs.

Hi there, it would be nice to exchange ideas etc x

Im in for you. Yes to have others that understand can really help. Im here for you also. And Welcome

Hi there DPNY! I am trying to clean up my diet–I cannot take NSAIDS as I am allergic to them. In addition to FMS, I have problems with osteoarthritis & Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. Any diet tips you know of? I am trying to cut out things that cause inflamation.
HUGS from Deb

Hi, I'm a newbie too, and I would love any ideas.

Hi Lucy Jane, welcome

Thank you, Fuzzy. Glad to meet you!

Hi Auburnm!! Nice to meet you as well. I was pretty elated myself when I found this site!! I am looking for any dietary info that will at least help minimize the pain and especially help boost my energy level. So far I've found that everything I now eat and enjoy is exactly what I shouldn't be eating. Hopefully we can both get some pointers from others as far as what we should be eating. I've learned so far that foods high in potassium and electrolytes are very good for you. Look forward to chatting w/you!! That goes for Fuzzy, Deb, Kelly and LucyJane as well!! Nice to meet you all and look forward to our idea swapping!!

Hi and welcome. I have had some success with lowering my base pain levels I have a gluten free diet as I’m celiacs but i have read afew times that a gluten free diet is recommended for fibro I have stopped consuming sugar apart from the natural kinds too. Also despite the pain when exercising I have been making sure I do atleast 25 minutes a day in small portions 5 minutes exercise 8 minutes rest . I have fibromyalgia and joint hypermobility mobility so Its not easy and I don’t always want to bit it’s helping and I’m losing weight which is a bonus. I’m not saying it will work for everyone but i think you will all agree anything is worth ago. I react very badly to all the pain meds I’ve tried. . either that or they don’t work at all. So now I don’t take anything apart from codeine for migraines. I’m not pain free and I still get bad flare ups like I am currently but I have improved  .

Hi, DPNY, and welcome! Great that you've introduced yourself and started a discussion. Since you're interested in nutrition, you might want to join the group "Recipes for Special Diets." Check it out!

I just asked this in a pop up chat. Thanks, I’ll be reading this post!

I am new also - tried to upload a picture but failed on three different jpg's - so I remain a butterfly. have had fibro 35 years and so glad to find this chat room. I don't have a puter at home, use the library. I have lots to say. I do know that STRESS of any kind makes it worse.

Welcome! I'm new as well, and couldn't be happier to have found a Fibromyalgia community. It's almost been eight years for me as well!
