Has anyone change there diet and notice any changes in there fibro symptoms? If so, what did you do?
Hello Necee,
This is not something I have done ( I try to eat healthy anyway ), but I'd be interested in what other people have done. Thanks for a great discussion topic, looking forward to hearing what others have to say.
Take care, Anne
I have to eat really healthy (like no cookies or sugar anymore, but fruits and lots of vegetables), drink tea (I'm a coffee person :( ), and drink a lot of water. This should help with my pain, but up till now I don't feel any difference. I'm doing this 2 weeks now, so maybe it's still too early...
Changing your eating is really hard.. For me though.. I have a lot of difficulties to avoid the delicious cookies and often I can't ignore it. So maybe this could be why it doesn't work yet. I don't know...
What does everybody else do?

I really need to try to change my diet but it's so freaking hard when you live w/ 5 other people. I have a friend that is a dietician who has been recommending going gluten free but I'm not sure I can do that. I probably need to talk w/ someone & not be such an emotional eater, too. :)
Hi,
Someone suggested going gluten free to me a few years ago, so even though I had not had any issues with gluten I went gluten free for 3 months. No change at all. I told my rheumatologist about it and she asked me if I had ever been
diagnosed with a gluten allergy to which I said no. She said then why did you think cutting gluten out of your diet would work, and I said because I was desperate for something to work!
So My point is, if you have never had an issue with gluten, then going gluten free probably won't make a difference. Sorry I don't have better news.
Good luck and please keep us posted.

Jackie S, good to know! I can't imagine living w/out my breads and pastas. :) I love these. Thanks for letting me know. I've never had issues w/ gluten but like you I'm desperate to try stuff to see if it works.
Hi I have been doing Paleo for 5 months now and I think it has showed incredible results for me. I have a 2 level fusion in my back and neck, fibro and severe neuropathy. I have decreased my pain meds (hydrocodone) from 4 to 2 a day. That is huge for me. My brother sent me a youtube video of a female doctor with MS. She did the Paleo diet and I think it was like 6 months she was riding her bike. She was almost wheelchair bound. After watching it, I thought why not try it. It is not easy but after awhile you sleep better, have more energy, lose weight (if you need it) and decrease in pain. I think it is worth a try. You have to be committed and give it time. It detoxes your body and lowers inflammation. I get free cookbooks on my kindle. I like sweets, and there are Paleo desserts (chocolate chip cookies Yay!). Hope this helps. Good luck!
I recently added a supplement to my diet and I do not know if it is a placebo effect. I do believe it helps. I have more energy. It is D- Ribose. I got it from Amazon and it tastes good with milk.
