Just wondering how many of you have had the crazy itchy (like burny itchy) legs, and if you have found anything that helps with that. I don't want to keep scratching holes in my legs when I'm sleeping. Or watching tv, not realizing that I am going bananas on my legs.
Hello, I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. Have you talked to your doctor or a dermatologist about it? Itching can be caused by a lot of different things and is best evaluated by your physician. What types of things have you tried to do to find relief? I know sometimes when my skin is super itchy, I will put a cold compress or ice pack on the area, it seems to help. I also make sure to use a good moisturizer and I try to use products that won't dry out the skin. Hugs!
I have this more during the winter than summer. Make sure you stay hydrated and check your soaps and lotions for alcohol. See your doctor to make sure their isnt anything else going on. I have worn socks on my hands to prevent me from scratching.
Have you tried mineral oil? It is inexpensive & it helps me with the winter dry skin. Have you tried looking on a medical online site to see if you can pinpoint what it may be?
hi. pretty much the same with me. i went to medical doc, dermatologist, neuro, and allergy doc. no one can find a cause. i am taking atarax 3-4 x a day and it is under control. all the best......
I get this same feeling in my hands sometimes. It drives me crazy! It is that burning, itchy, "OMG I want to scratch my skin off" feeling. I usually run my hands under cold water or take a hot bath. I don't know why, but the heat and cold stops the itching most of the time.
>I get itchy on my arms and legs at times No idea why. The ONLY thing that helps is benadryl. I hate to take one more med, but Icannot sleep when it happens and almost always happens in the evening. Lotions don't help either. Guess it is another lovely part of fibro!!!>Soft hugs.Jenny
I get what I call the phantom hives. Mainly my shins do it but I’ll have spots all over that just flare up and itch for no reason. I saw an allergist and he told me I have a very common auto-immune disorder that causes anti-antibodies to attack my allergen antibodies and that’s why I get the itchies. He has me taking 3 different types of allergy meds. For once my allergies are under control but I’ve already had two flare ups this month so we will see.
