Along with many other symptoms of fm, does any one ever get an itch that feels like some thing is crawling on you? I get this itch in more than one place about the same time. My stomach, back, legs, arms, face and chest and on my head.
Ah, the nerve pain itch. It also is associated with Restless Leg Syndrome. Some of us feel it as bugs crawling around on us, some of us an itch, some of us feel pain but it all seems to be a part of nerve pain, believe it or not. I get it mostly in my legs. I honestly don't think there is any cure for it, other than to itch. And itch. And itch some more.
Sorry to not have more info for you on this topic but it's a good topic because so many of us get it but don't realize that it's related to our fibro.
Hugs,
Petunia
OHHHH YES
Bugs crawling,an itch that jumps around from place to place, being startled out of sleep because when I'm sleeping I can't have any weight on my feet so i hang them off the side of the bed and I could swear someone touched my ankle or somethings crawled over it.
The itch is particularly uncomfortable or when my body feels like it's been sunburned, my skin gets so itchy that when i go to scratch, i end up hurting myself. I don't know if you've ever experienced "the sunburn",but the first time I had it,I wrote in to see if anyone could clarify what was happening to me. I couldn't even take a drink without a straw because my lips were burning so bad ,the glass touching hurt like #%$*...It lasted for about 12 hours and there was absolutely nothing I could do to get relief so I just had to wait for it to pass. Lots of people responded when I desperately wrote in about it. Most of us ,(from what i understand) have all kinds of weird sensations on or under the skin.
It's validating to know others are having the same symptoms. That's what i love about this site. It makes you feel a little less crazy when these CRAZY things occur.
Well I'm glad I'm not crazy. It is very annoying, and yes it creeps me out. At night when I'm trying to go to sleep some times it keeps me from going to sleep. During the day it just doesn't stop. I suffer from extremely dry skin especially in the colder weather, plus my ecxema on my face, scalp and ears, and a selected other place where the sun doesn't shine. So I go through many bottles of lotion though out the year. It helps a little I think. But at least now I can put down the idea of getting a bug swatter. No swatting myself. LOL
No I have not experienced the burn your talking about Fightergirl. I do get sun burn in the summer. I love the warmth from the sun and the vitamins you get from spending 30 minutes a day in it. I don't get that much but when ever I can I go lay out. Over the last few years the sunburn doesn't act like sunburn. It is a strange burn, but I still tan after the burn goes away. I notice the sunburn stays longer and my skin doesn't seem to tolerate it as good as it used to.
Well I'm glad I asked everyone. Thank you for your responses. Now I know I don't have bugs !!!! That's a big ;-) smiley face for me.
