Irritable Bowl

I understand that we all are different in our dealings with this Fibromyalgia. And that is what we are here for. To give one another something to think about based on what we have learned over time in making our lives more livable. In this case I want to discuss the IRRITABLE BOWL problem. Over the last year I have altered my eating habits (which some people call diet) and have made my life a bit better by reducing my bowl movements from 8 times a day to no more than 2. Also no more bloating, indigestion, heartburn and rectal bleeding. My solution is quite simple. Knock off sugar. Not natural sugars in fruits and vegetables but the processed sugar. But do beware. Fruits can be a problem with the bowls. Experiment and listen to your body. Personally the only fruit I can eat is bananas and raisins. Eat natural foods that Mother Nature grew, not the processed foods. Go gluten free. Get off of gluten including most of the gluten free foods because they are processed and contain a great amount of processed sugars. It takes a we bit of self control and cooking your own meals but it is so well worth it. Every once in a while I would like to have a pastry or a piece of toast with butter and I do pay for that mistake. And beware of teas and coffee. They may contribute to your problem as well as the carbination in sodas. Bottom line here is this, EXPERIMENT and listen to your body. If the Good Lord’s willing and the creek don’t rise you will feel better. And another thing, I was getting close to diabetes. No longer. My numbers are down. And I sleep well at nights. This is my story.

Your recommendations are in line with what I have experienced. I would say too that anyone with irritable bowel symptoms may want to research FODMAPS as well. They are often the culprit when it comes to digestive problems.

Hyoscyamine is used to treat a variety of stomach/intestinal problems such as cramps and irritable bowel syndrome. It is also used to treat other conditions such as bladder and bowel control problems, cramping pain caused by kidney stones and gallstones, and Parkinson’s disease. My doctor has prescribed this for my irritable bowel and it has worked wonders. I used to spend most of my time in my house because I didn’t feel comfortable being far from my toilet. I now am able to get around like a normal human. I have been so happy with the change this drug has made in my life. I always look bloated because I am and I have not been able to change that, but I have not tried going gluten free. I also have Alpha-Gal Syndrome (allergic to all mammal meat and by-products) so I have very little that I can eat any way. Can’t sleep unless I take my Ambien.

The more I read the more I pay attention to what I have to be thankful for. I have two new knees, just had surgery on both feet because of the arthritis, irritable bowl, fibromyalgia, enlarged prostate, erectile disfunction, hearing aids, can’t take most medicines because of their horrible effect on me, and the list goes on. BUT I have never been happier. Lately I have practiced MINDFULNESS and PRESENCE and my anger is almost completely gone and I sleep well at nights without medication. Combine this with my new eating habits and THE MOST WONDERFUL WOMAN IN THE WORLD this 73 year old man is happy. Age and deterioration will happen but misery is optional.
