JayCS’s Fibro Blog

Summary of Biggest Successes

:trophy: :trophy: :trophy:

  • all local musculo-skeletal /tendinitis pains are under control again,
    • most recently wrists (without concentrating on stretches too much, just when I remember / feel like it, but remains necessary)
    • at night backward arch stretches always spare my hunchpack pillow.
    • my self-physio has hardly been necessary, I think because I immediately do something about the slightest problem that comes up.
  • Stiffness: learnt how to move to partly compensate the temporary stiffness by “throwing” limbs and torso, as well as moving slowly to not overdo anything, to a point that it’s become normal to me.
  • Bladder pain, urge, frequency and loss almost fully under control by watching histamine and finely adjusting GABA.
  • sting prevention with my eucalyptus stuff, alleviation with cold & antihistamine.
  • spine pain: hunchback, neck, tailbone, lower back, clavicle always fairly good. Youtube allows me to now be completely independent of physiotherapists.
  • jaw / teeth: Greatly reduced jaw inflammation using lots of anti-inflammatory supps.
  • sleep: Supps, circadian rhythm, screen time down, NSDR hardly necessary. I have many things around my bed which I hardly ever have to use any more: essential oils, creams, eye mask, ear plugs (hardly ever), my “hunchback cushion” etc.
  • fog: Like the energy slowing it down and not overdoing it helps stay in control.
  • No depression: Sustainably happier and more content using motivation, mindfulness. acceptance & commitment therapy aspects, psychotherapy, forum support.

MCAS & fibro

  • IBS low: Hardly ever diarrhea or any other symptoms if I keep to my main 50 foods.
  • supps stable: I do adjust these from time to time, but basically there’s nothing I can reduce, many have several purposes across the board. The last important supps I added made sleep more effective despite the many sleep breaks.
  • Greatly improved dry hands by changing soap back to an olive oil one, different brand.

MCAS:

  • Sinus headaches: I seem to be cornering them and maybe their trigger.
  • I can now quickly trace food triggers, altho DAO doesn’t seem to help everything, but something. Better reducing or if necessary eliminating.

Further:

  • seizures: Recently may have been from stress, then adjust night GABA accordingly.
  • esophagus blocks: I now know better how to influence them, and they only happen when I’m not mindful enough of that.
  • appetite: I’ve managed to regain most of it by allowing things that are bad for my lipids or ethics, but good for health and tasty… Now I’m slowly able to partly return.
  • docs: I’ve been pretty independent of docs for quite a long time now, but still need my blood levels and also vessels monitored, and need to check if oncology can help me in any way.
  • I believe I’ll be able to manage most new symptoms that may come up in future.
  • the orange spots - probably iron deposits - on my feet and ankles are decreasing more and more, only about 20% left.
lipids: lipoprotein (a) down, triglycerides and LDL down, HDL up. Click for details

Statins increase lipoprotein (a), so my aim/success has been to lower that as well as the other lipids and surprisingly I recently saw I’ve managed to get my HDL up into the normal range.
Of the supps I use at the moment, these are the ones for lipids: high dose (2-3g) B3 as nicotinic acid (= with flush, start with niacin, then start low & go slow) plus same amount of TMG, B5, B9, carnitine, ginkgo, PEA, CoQ10, quercetin, resveratrol, silymarin, rutin, glutathione, myo-inositol, olive leaf extract & when I was deficient copper, perhaps ellagic acid, pycnogenol & eleuthero. D-ribose being a sugar increases lipids. There are quite a few more - psyllium, pectin, flaxseed, quinoa, lecithin don’t work for me, red yeast rice extract and phytosterols are controversial. (This stuff is from many studies, esp. about lipoprotein a).

  • These blog entries have become more and more focused and detailed, able to leave many things behind and focus on the big one(s) left. (And these entries are helping me focus.)
  • My quality of life and happiness is usually high, with a bit of a low at the moment after T4/CoV Feb/Mar and a bit of stress, feeling pressured to overdo it.
