2022-02-04, Friday - endoscopy showed a Schatzki-ring constriction.

v2: 12:20 endoscopy went well due to all measures taken: a “Schatzki ring”-constriction is the main problem & would need 2 days of ballooning as an impatient  inpatient. :face_with_monocle: But Ache, fatigue and abdomen pain continuing…

Triggers & resulting Symptoms

SLEEP (click for details): 9h06, up 5x (31') ✅, and ➔ Feeling 80-90% well, Ache 2 of 7 🧐, getting up: 80%/2 ❌, bit of belly ache. 🧐. I think ear plugs all the time may be better for my brain at night, not just 'hearing things'.

ACTIVITIES (aiming for 40% - well 20% - of pre-fibro)ACHE: Pain & fatigue from the endoscopy ➔ 70-60%/3-4 all day. :x:, Focal seizures due to propofol at 14:45 and 17:20, see research. :white_check_mark:
"HOW DO I LOOK?" Maybe I should put a mirror next to where I always sit… Tried a video tool: lips look OK, eyes looked tired. :face_with_monocle: :trophy: Mirror with bright light: That impression was right, and I look much better than I feel :face_with_monocle: :trophy:. Have to ask my wife.
ACTIONSPAINS: :white_check_mark: GI: Bit of belly ache & slight diarrhea at 8 (from NAC?/vit.C at 1?) 13:10 Fast typing is a strain on my left underarm. :face_with_monocle:. Right abdomen hurting - my wife says “normally that can’t be from the tissue samples, but knowing you it might be”. :face_with_monocle: Moving around is getting better at 18:00, but the abdomen pain, now central, is worse. :x:.

Treatments

Docs: Gastroscopy, or rather endoscopy: (Drat: in the hospital I’d written half an hour after the endoscopy how everything went, but moving my laptop lost me all of that, because I had another tab without that open. So I’ve decided to generally close the 2nd tab I always have open now, to reduce the temptation.) Well seeing as I always freeze and get a sore throat in the wake-up room, today I took a HWB and longjohns with me, asked and put the longjohns on under my trousers before, which was great. Everything went quick this time, and I remembered to ask the prof. before about MCAS, so he decided to not just look at and pick up some stuff in the esophagus, but to go down into the lower duodenum to check if he can pick up anything there (thus endoscopy, and not much of a gastroscopy). The preparing nurse helped by tucking me in as she knew what it’s like to get cold quickly, also takes a HWB everywhere. And a very young intern who joked around with me revealed where I can quickly get any jab any time with no waiting time, which’ll make my plan easier. Upon waking my pulse went from 67 to 60, my bp was 102/75 and my oxygen 95-97, all satisfactory (what my oxygen is like I’ve been wanting to know). When offered to get up, I immediately accepted, altho I was dizzy, to be free of all the gadgets and be able to decide what I need, just moved very slowly, and that was a good idea. My doc told me I have a “Schatzki ring”-constriction in the esophagus, which would need ballooning for 2 days as an inpatient. Generally it was excellent for me that I was alone there and back, without my wife, because it meant I could concentrate on myself better and do what’s good for me. With brilliant timing, cycled there slowly, spot on time as I already knew all procedures and how far I’d have to walk, where everything was and had everything prepared. And afterwards I waited for half an hour sitting in the waiting area, drinking a litre of soy milk I’d brought with me (with hardly any allergic or histamine reaction btw, praps a bit itchy skin) to make up for hunger and took all the supps I’d missed. Then tested walking to the bathroom and saw it’d work. Dizzy and slightly nauseous tho. But interestingly, being able to cycle “blindfolded” with absolutely no problem (if I’m tired with eyes closed some of the time) I realized that cycling slowly was much better than walking. When any cars or pedestrians came, I stopped immediately, until they were well past and looked 4x before crossing any roads. So: success and no sore throat, no cold. And at home sitting with legs straight or in Bound Angle Pose with blanket and HWB, talking a bit was a bit of strain, eating OK, now typing…

WHB (3 rounds) :one: 8:45 1’30’’ 2’00’’ 2’10’’ :trophy::trophy: ( at the same time first finger vibrating, then massage pistoling my belly ache, then lying in Bound Angle Pose, so duplicating my self-physio time, something I’m often doing, but think I can do more.

Development
Jab-sfx:
Research-search today:
Focal seizures from propofol: This study suggests “propofol has the capacity to promote seizure activity, particularly when there is an underlying seizure predisposition.” This review from 2002 includes 11 seizure seizure patients of which 64% got full seizures upon waking up.
However this letter from 2009 says it causing real seizures in people with epilepsy is extremely rare.
But reading that gave me the idea that as an anticonvulsant reacting on GABA/serotonin may have added to the GABA I’m taking, so may be serotonin syndrome. In any case it’s caused seizures in me, as I haven’t had any for a long time (I think directly after the jab was the last time), there’s no doubt for me.

Interesting to hear/read possible explanations for melatonin not working for me by Matt Walker himself in a 2’ video. However I have to smile at his alternatives there, in these notes on “Why We Sleep” and similar recommendations here: I’ve had to find, analyze & alleviate >30 triggers. Sleep lab didn’t help, but supps, cold showers, yoga nidra. Regarding melatonin it seems what they are not refuting is that if you take the pure stuff, possibly in minute amounts, it may help initiate sleep: did that, didn’t…
