Cycling: hands & wrists. MCAS/HIT-Symptoms/Triggers/Treatments: Except lack of real energy as ever. . Tofu? Broccoli OK. Fibro & Touch: Covid-danger: An old neighbour in our house told me on the stairs without a mask that she’d just tested positive. I was flabbergasted. I immediately took several steps back and at least put my mask on. Weather: Indoors we are managing to keep the temperature down to 24°C by only opening windows at night. Sometimes it even gets a bit too cold when we air at night. I still wear 5 pairs of socks. . Outdoors it was OK a few days, today it was “only” 30°C outside, but cycling 2x30’ with a lying down break in between was very taxing, not due to energy, just the heat and the breeze making me nauseous.

Don’t quite understand #1. #3 has detailed explanations to 1 towel stretch, #4 has more detail on 3 different towel stretches. ‘Research’ today: Bladder pain / urgency / frequency (what I abbreviate p1-2 for a pain of 1-2 for p = pee pain)
Looking at bladder pain I heard here that if I retain too far it goes back into the kidney. (May have done that in the past, least it felt like that.). Frequent urination at night is called nocturiathe comment under this video has reminded me and treatment of OAB might be “an anticholinergic” med. This is a great 3’ overview on relieving bladder pain. The various foods you should avoid says Michelle Kenway I avoid anyway due to their acidity, except dark chocolate (cacao). Anything carbonated too. Also: yellow tomatoes are not as acidic as red ones. Onions are highly acidic, didn’t know, but I know I don’t tolerate them at all. Vinegar is logical, but soy sauce?? and mustard she doesn’t say if sweet mustard is OK. Didn’t know about artificial sweeteners either, I wonder if my xylitol chewing gum counts? Vitamin C she mentions, but then I should also be counting all my amino acids for the bladder, I spose…However my vitamin C source is sodium citrate, goes easy on the stomach, so I should think also on the bladder. In the next video on OAB she gives dark chocolate a red light. Then: red tomatoes are high in citric & ascorbic acid, yellow and pink may be better. Next I’d never thought about flavoured psyllium, mine has orange in it, which makes it taste better. But I actually haven’t taken it for ages. Natural psyllium would be better. Artificial sweeteners: stevia is OK, doesn’t mention xylitol (and can’t find anything on it). On healthline it just says that xylitol can reduce dry mouth (in case we want to try to drink less). Of course the option to drink less in the evenings counteracts my esophagus blocks which means I need to drink more now due to my evening supps. Michelle suggests a diary and to try to hold on a bit, not too long, cos that upsets the bladder and makes it worse (yes). Try not to “void the bladder just in case”, like before showering - ah, that’s something I’m guilty of. She says drink water, but I know soy/almond milk is better for me. Looking for that I found here that soy milk is one of the drinks that hydrate better than water. All others there would irritate my bladder (except milk). Here on steadyhealth quite a few people describe exactly my pain before peeing. Again Michelle’s tips for reducing urgency - esp. 1. Kegel exercises, plus 2. toe curling! (walk, don’t run to the loo), 3. Bending/leaning forward or kneeling using various tricks for that reduces the pressure, 4. apply external pressure, 5. relax breathing, don’t hold it! 6. think about something else: counting breath or steps etc.
Michelle’s take on nocturia: 1) 3h is the time it takes from drinking to urinating. Medication includes blood pressure medication, so I’m not sure if that includes the supps that relax and thus are good for high blood pressure? Fluid retention means if you’re standing and sitting a lot, then fluid in feet may go back into the body/bladder, so anything that reduces that, like feet up, could help.

Now you’ve got me curious. From reading it up, it seems it’s all very hypothetical, not well proven, a hunch.
I’m also not sure which way round it might be, or if it is a vicious circle/cycle.
Two pages say it’s the vagus that impacts the stomach motility, building acid up. Interesting take on it.
The 3rd says that too, but that the acid again stimulates the vagus nerve, which can cause problems in sinuses, larynx & pharynx.
However the 1st page by a DO says reducing carbs will help, which I’ve done for decades.
Also I doubt GERD / all hyperacidity is caused by the vagus nerve.
But I’ll have a go at the vagus nerve exercises for this I was actually recommending to you… [image]

Well, thinking further down this route, it is ‘of course’ the case that I have an esophagus stricture called Schatzki ring, which may have been caused by decades of heartburn/GERD. But it seems too far fetched that my intermittent nostril / sinus problems come from that. My nostrils often but not close up, mostly in the second half of the night. My sinuses often burn since the jabs, which I can alleviate with more GABA, i.e. it’s much easier to attribute it to lowered serotonin caused probably by higher histamine (or cortisol from stress).
Association doesn’t mean causation. But interesting all the same. As I said, I’ll be keeping it in mind further…

2022-07-31, Sunday - Energy 15% / Sleep 80% / Feeling 80/60%-ish (when not moving 80%, moving 50-70% - If I do short exercises lying down (under a minute) the pain is OK, sometimes when I walk around a little, it’s OK, but then everything hurts as soon as I stop…
First severe stomach ache at night delayed getting over 8h sleep, due to a 2h long sleep break till I’d calmed it down again, mainly with Gastritol I think, but also almonds and a bit of gluten-free muesli.
Then to do that I had to sleep till 11 and that made eating & supps a bit complicated, so I didn’t breakfast, and took my morning supps directly before midday meal, and the afternoon supps 1h40 later. Hope that’s no GABA/serotonin or acid (GABA, carnitin & vitamin C) overload (heartburn…).
ACTIVITIES (aim: 40% energy) ➔ ACHE: 60-80%/2-4 all day, despite only resting ACTIONS ➔ PAINS: except: neck ? GI: 4 burning stomach pain, probably from the esophagus block, rather than the gluten-free bread slice at midday? , helped by almonds, a bit of gluten-free muesli with almond milk and I think esp. Gastritol, also rested my torso high, this time backwards-twist-stretched face down, no problems when waking, even delaying first meal from 11 to 13:30 . At 13:40 a slice of pear (last time had no wind with that amount). And no bread, just the sheep cheese at 14:30, to see if that was the problem - at 15:10 no problems from either, nor from the doubled acid supps… . Esophagus block 21:00 - I think I shouldn’t have waited to try to let it go down, it’s just too risky, praps better to regurgitate after 5’. jaw 0x5’’ pee pain: interesting build-up from 15:00 to 16:30, see below . No local pains from actions or postures, just the above and a severe Ache from moving longer than 1’. MCAS/HIT-Symptoms/Triggers/Treatments: Except lack of real energy as ever. . 16:30 face skin burning a bit. (Not just then(?)) I was surprised to find a German supplement company favoured by myself for offering powders in pure high quality also offering ATP as a supp. I’d never heard of this being realistic, but they quoted studies here.
Pubmed had no direct results. So looking at the studies cited,
One found 5000mg ATP once just increased uric acid, another that using that amount regularly did only the same.
However a 3rd study using 400mg found it improved weight lifting, a 4th that it improves well-being by increasing dopamine (in rats), a 5th that the adenosine it creates reduces pain from being transmitted. #3 Scientific study
