Last night I gave both of my dogs a treat. One of those dingo bones they love so much. They have eaten these things for years without any issues. Well last night the bacon part of the treat unraveled and got stuck in one of my dogs throat. He was literally chocking. So I rushed over to him and tried to fish out the thing from his throat. My dog was panicking and he ended up clamping/biting down on my right index finger.
The pain was unbearable. I thought he had bitten the entire tip of my finger off. I wrapped my hand in a towel and raced out the door to the neighbors house. My husband had just left on a business trip a few hours earlier. I literally collapsed in pain at my neighbors door. They were ready to call 911 but I begged them to look at my finger first.
The finger was still in tact. My dog had bitten down in a way that one of his back teeth lodged under the finger nail. I was so embarrassed that things were not as bad as what I was emotionally projecting. I was screaming in agony. I can only summize that the fibromyalgia made me feel the pain 100 times worse than it actually was. Today, my finger is throbbing and swollen and still causing way more pain than it should under normal circumstances.
Has anyone else experienced an accident where their FM escalated their pain like this?
