How did you leave the workplace once you finally knew you could no longer work?
Did you get fired for calling in?
Did you just quit?
Medical Leave - then quit?
And, I guess…what is the best way to handle that in the face of SSI?
I was fired from my last job because I used up my absences. I even told the HR department that I was having struggles with pain and mental issues (the job was in a highly stressful environment - call center). They did nothing to try to help me.
When I put in my application for SSI, I was very transparent that I lost the job due to physical and mental health struggles. They didn't give me any guff about it.
