Lyrica -- how to make it affordable?

Many people here seem to use Lyrica, and some have said that they wiykd use it, but cannot afford the cost. Manufacturers sometime have programs to help people afford expensive meds, or coupon offers to reduce the cost to patients.

Have you used any of these to be able to afford Lyrica from Pfizer? What was your experience?

FYI – lyrica goes off patent Dec 2018, opening the door to generic availability.

Of course pfizer immediately announced plans to release extended release lyrica – which creates a new brand name version of the drug with a new patent. Don’t be fooled and jump to the newest form of med! If you’re doing well as you are you may want to give the generic a go before buying into the extended release version.

I have used the pfizer patient assistance program before I was eligible for medicare. The process was not too bad, but you do have to meet income guidelines. I am currently in the process of being approved again because I am in the donut hole in the medicare drug program.

I get the coupon that adjusts the price of Lyrica to $25 per month. I have United Healthcare insurance and the Lyrica would cost me about $220 per month.
