Natural remedies for swelling due to Arthritis?

Hello,

I am currently taking 400mg's of Ibuprofen 2x/day for swelling and inflammation due to Arthritis. It seems to be helping, but my knees and elbows often hurt from the inflammation. Are there any special oils or natural lotions that can be applied to the area of inflammation that individuals have found work for them? I have an anti-inflammatory gel called Voltaren Gel, but I'm trying to move toward natural remedies. I know that ginger is good for inflammation, but I cannot stand the taste of ginger in my tea.

Feedback appreciated,

Sara

Sara, I have been taking ginger supplement tab I get at GNC; I also have been taking GNC’s turmeric supplement, it has another ingredient. Idk if it has helped me… I am allergic to NSAIDS & would also love to find something to give me pain relief from the arthritis. I have been hurting so badly today with it that Tramadol does not touch it. I also would like a more natural remedy if there is one out there that really helps. I have tried Australian Dream cream-used most of the jar-not sure it helps either. It is especially hard to work full time in this kind of pain & the fibro doesn’t help either, does it? I hope you find something that really helps lesson your pain.

Hi Deb,

I'm sorry you are in pain. I understand what you are going through. My fingers look like swollen sausages today from the inflammation and the bottom of my feet hurt when I walk because they are swollen. It is very difficult to work full time and have to deal with the pain and other Fibro symptoms. Thanks for the response, I appreciate the support. I might try the Ginger Supplement tablets. I could get some from Costco. My Chiropractor says it can take 2-3 months for the ginger to have an effect on the inflammation/swelling. My dad also stated Turmeric is good for inflammation as well.

Talk soon and Hugs,

Sara
