Ya not well back is killing and got a really bad head and sore throat so it Takeaway and bed hope u all are OK and not in to much pain
Rebecca, I can relate and I use morphine also. I more than anyone know that morphine just doesn't work like it should. I spend everyday in bed, I do everything in bed and of course I hate that too. For the first time in months,I went to sleep before 4am and woke up at 7:30 am this morning. Sad to say that to me this is considered a good nights sleep. Your not alone so please hang in there. I am sorry I am not one with a lot of positive sayings, but sometimes all that positive stuff doesn't help me at all, but it does feel better to get support from other people who are going through the same thing. Need company please feel free to hit me up if you see me online.
Stay peaceful, Leslie
Hi Rebecca:
I'm so sorry you had such a bad day! I know today I woke up and could barely move, the worst part, I'm temporarily in a lofted bed! I almost didn't make it out w/o smashing into the hardwood floor. I've been sick for seven years and I've been getting worse too, it can be so frustrating and depressing. I'm glad you are venting though, it is better out than in and this is a safe place to dump.
Have you ever considered getting a counselor? It is great to have someone on your side who doesn't judge and can sometimes provide insightful information. If you do try, just remember you don't have to stick with the first once you visit. Sometimes you have to go to several before you find someone that you click with. For myself, I've found it so nice to not have to defend how miserable I'm feeling. I can sit and cry the whole 60 minutes or swear and yell for the duration :) Let me tell you, it can be very therapeutic.
I've also started a blog, sometimes it helps to read other people's stories. Here is a link to my most recent post that you might be able to relate to: http://dancingintherain-always.blogspot.com/2014/03/beauty-lost.html
Sending you the hugest hug, because this one won't hurt,

Aww...Rebecca, I'm so sorry you are having one of those days sweetie :(
Living w/Fibro is a battle everyday and sometimes we make gains, most days though, we just maintain.
I read here that doctors are blaming this bitter winter for the vicious attacks of Fibro, the flares, the fog, the relentless pain and aches. I surely believe they're spot on for I cannot recall a more painful Winter in over 15 years! I've spent a good part of it unable to walk from foot/leg pain. I understand how you feel and I'm so sorry.
I want to tell you to please try to hang on...spring warmth is not far away, the suns warmth is building and it won't be long till we'll be able to sit and absorb all of its goodness.
I am on many medications, lots of different ones for pain, I suffer from several ailments and I get kinda ticked off when I receive a new diagnosis but the doctor sees my med list and figures he need not prescribe anything because the Oxycontin, Lorcet, Neurontin, Norco...blah blah, should be more than enough to cover additional pain....Arrrrgh! In a perfect world maybe...not the way it works in real life though!
I am fortunate in that my Nurse Practitioner knows about every little thing going on with me. When I receive a new diagnosis from, lets say, my podiatrist...I have him treat me during my appointment, ie cortisone shots to feet, nail care, etc. but when it comes to medication I have him fax his recommendations to my NP. She is at the helm with my medication needs. I was in a pain management program for a while but they didn't have much luck with me because of so many chronic conditions and a couple of failed nerve blocks that kinda ticked me off.
When it comes to the pain of Fibro and its flares you MUST have a practitioner that knows you and knows all about fibro, not just a little bit. One that is compassionate and that will validate your illness in you. That makes all the difference in the care you receive and the emotional part of this illness that threatens our emotional well being day in and day out.
I guess I've gone on long enough. My name is Laurel and I'd like also to welcome you to BensFriends! This is a wonderful site! I hope you'll look me up from time to time when you have a question. I'd be happy to help! Be sweet to yourself today !

Hi darling I have been on the page it’s great and OMG I so can related to all of them thanks was a good read
I'm so sorry to hear that you're not getting relief from even morphine. I do a meditation from the Bruno Goerning Circle of Friends that temporarily reduces the pain and spasm while I do it and a bit after. This HAS been a very hard winter. My prayers and wishes for the window to open and the sun to shine thru. Blessings.
Thanks Rebecca!
I'm glad you were able to relate. I'll definitely be updating it on a semi-regular basis.
I hope today is a better day for you!
