I don't have the flu. It's just the fibro. I've never experienced this before and it's so weird to me. It seems like every time I push myself I can add a new symptom to the list. This is the 5th day in a row that I have had nausea come on as a result of activity. Today I was just resting most of the day. I got up to fix dinner and fold a load of laundry and it hit. So, when hubster got home I started crying. This is a hard one to get passed. Just when I felt like I was going to be able to survive and schedule in some normal, this comes along. Saturday eve after our Christmas with Ashley I went to bed and had to run to the rest room to be sick. It had been a very busy and fun day. Sunday I felt ok until late in the day.
I get nausea when I over do it as well, it is not fun by no means. Peppermint tea or candy helps me or just lying down helps. I am not sure why Fibro causes this but I wish it would not!
I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
I suspect it is this time of year that has everybody hustling and bustling and our fibro bodies just revolt. Christmas is hard on lots of people but it's eve harder on others like us. We just hope we will make it through. I live alone so I am more and more finding that being in a group or a crowd just wipes me.
I can't remember the last time I was actually nauseated as an adult. But I feel nauseous. It just doesn't seem fair that we aren't able to enjoy Christmas without getting sick.
Trying some peppermint herbal tea just might help as nurse13 suggested.
Well, I guess this is just some more of the fun. It just means more isolation. I sound all gloom and doom. I shouldn't, I know so many of you have been experiencing this for a very long time.
Thanks so much nurse13 and Rachel. I will have some peppermint tea in the morning instead of coffee, for sure. Yes, and like you said just lying down helps. Rachel, I find the same thing about being out and in crowds. It's hard, but the clonazepam I take has always helped with the crowd or people anxiety, at least I've never become nauseated from it.
I'm glad I see my doctor next month. I was just reading about using phenegran for the nausea. I'll have to see how it goes between now and then.
yes i have heard ppl use phenegran and helps many ppl. i use zofran and get some relief. if you can take chamomile tea and put in some fresh or ground ginger that helps alot also and for headaches. if you choose ginger ale use canada dry which they say has real ginger in it. all the others have no ginger at all. good luck and hope you can have some holiday joy.. huggggs
Suzie and Tina, thank you. Oh, I love ginger. I have some fresh I can put in my tea tomorrow. I really like ginger ale too.
This is the weirdest thing. All of fibro is. We get to a place where we are adjusting to our limited abilities and here comes another symptom...wham! I'm laughing, but it's not funny. I'm fine if I'm just laying around, but as soon as I spend a few minutes doing something it's time to lay down again. Oh well.
Like the others I too get nausea when I’m over tired. . I also lose my balance at times when I’m nauseated so might be something re inner ear? I always thought it was the meds but maybe not. I too drink peppermint tea when I feel that wayHope you’re feeling better this evening.
